That's pretty cool. Although there are few spots where the celtic "over, under, over, under" (dunno what to call it...) goes wrong. Good picture still. Like it.

Thnx everyone.
Yeah, there were some places where it was impossible to respect that "under over under" rule.

ah, btw, let's post here my progress for that Jeanne d'Arc picture. You know, the one for the challenge with our national Ogre...

hell, that portrait is pretty sucky so far, but anyway i had no chance to win.
Well, I still hope I'll make something decent with that, though. We'll see.

Please report every mistake, it'll help me a lot.

Omg damn skin tone... way too gray...

i dont think its all that bad... i like it quite a lot, the color of the background is ever so nice, and she looks really medeivil with that haircut right there. i'll leave the 'real' commenting to kimchi and the people who can... >_>

I think youre going into too much too fast. I would have suggested to start off with a darker background or a color so that the white wouldnt stick out in the shading making it washed out. The hair looks extremely unnatural and it would be a better idea if you first made a base color and threw shades and highlights on it as a full form to make it look more natural. Use bigger strokes in your first step to define forms. You need just like one or two shades, and same for highlights. Think of the entire form when youre doing this, in the beggining dont really think as much about the shape of the nose, the mouth, the eyes, and just think of the bigger picture. This goes for the armor especially.
Also, there is a few errors in the drawing itself such as the left eye being too long. The hair, it is a good style, but perhaps it should be a bit smaller. This is probably the best portrait ive seen you do, congrats.

The eye is now corrected. As for the hair.. well, we'll see later. I'll try my best. omfgwtf.

Does anyone have a good tutorial about hair painting?
