Hi all! This is long time since I've been here.. lot's of new ppl! well here's my q: I've seen in many maps that Hero Units have an ability button that "opens" a new menu where you can see the rest of the abilities". In this new menu, and with the hero still selected, you dont see the move, stop, attack buttons but all the abilities buttons instead. This is pretty nice cuz allows you tu have almost 12 abilities on screen. What I would like to know is how to display such menu (I know it's a visual triggered effect) cuz I have not been able to remove the move, attack..buttons. Thanks! |

It's the spell book ability. It lets you stash up to 11 abilities away on a sub-menu that can be activated as a normal ability. Put the chosen abilities in the spellbook (via ability editor - there's a field for them), give the spell book ability to a unit, play the game, click the button, it shows all the abilities. Can be used as you said, very handly for stashing extra abilities on units. Note : I can't remember if there's actually a space in there or not - just search for it and you can find it |

There are some neat things that can be done with spellbooks, check Lord Vexorian's spellbook experiments in his hosted project subforum. One neat thing is that you can put passive abilities inside and they work even if the spellbook is disabled (in which case, it doesn't show an icon; you can disable an ability for a player with triggers). Very neat for hiding ability icons on a unit. (unfortunately, you can't order active spells in a spellbook to be cast with triggers, so it's useless to hide active spells this way). |

Cool I did not know about the spellbook ability! So Anitarf, you mean there's no way through triggers to cast an ability that is inside the spellbook? Ah and one more thing: I would like to have more than 1 "Hero abilities" button, where you click it and you can see the abilities he can learn (not use). Once I click, they are added to the hero abilities (would be nice If I also could add them into one spellbook). In this way I can choose from a lot more abilities to learn instead of only 11. Thanks for thet help! |

The only way I can think of doing it would be to simulate the whole hero-skill system using spellbooks. You would require a "learn spell" for each ability your hero can learn, put all these learn spells into a spelbook which will simulate your hero-skill-point-menu, and whenever a hero gains a level, add this spellbook ability to him, when he casts one of the spells from it, add the actual ability that spell represents to the hero and remove the spellbook... it would take a lot of work to make it look exactly like the hero skill menu, though... |

One more thing: I've added 2 abilities to a hero based on the same ability, which is Holy Light. I want to have 2 types of healing, so I need to base these 2 abilities on the same one. Now the thing is that when I use one of them in-game, the first one's button get's green-lighted, as if I had pressed that one too. How can I solve this? Thanks in advance. |

Base the other ability on the other spell. Seriously, you can't have two spells with same orderstrings on the same unit, it creates all sorts of bugs. |

I just found Healing weave as similar spell to Holy Light (with only 1 target). :S What other similar abilities for a Target Healing spell? |
