Hey all ive just made my first terrain and i need your opinions and how i can improve it.

Its a small human town in a desert.

Also i'd like to know how to change the camera view and remove all the stuff except the terrain

To change the camera go to window->new palates->cameras. Window is in the same row up top as file, edit, etc.

By remove all other stuff besides the terrain I assume you meant all the worldeditor stuff. Just throw that screenshot into a picture editing program, even MSPaint can do this, and just remove what you don't want.

This terrain is pretty good for a first try, it has tile variation which is very rare for first timers. The ground is not flat, as in you used the elevation tool which was good as well. There are only a few problems, for one it seems a bit to crowded and the second thing is that you used the Blizzard cliffs, which look really ugly.

Overall this was a very good first try and if you ever need more practice I'd suggest checking out the weekly terraining contest.

Hey there Wolf986,
I must admit that I am not overly a huge fan of your first attempts at a human town/city, however, you have shown great deals of improvement with your second shot, of the forest and the gate, and the human city burning down, thats another good photo too!! The use of fog, when not overly done, is an excellent addition to most photos. The hieght variation, and use of blizzard cliffs/trees - although widely critisied and hated - I think were used in moderation and look fine, in comparision to the vastly used hieght variation tool, which can consume a lot of 'land' or 'space' to achieve the correct cliff hieght or look.

I think the best thing a noob (not necessarly saying you are or labelling you with that 'tag') can do is to learn from their mistakes, or those of others, and incoporate these into future terrain(s)!!

Hey they are amazing!! Good Job.
I think you should try to include more things inside the fortress, add some life, extra buildings, units perhaps. You seem to have a good grasp of scaling and proportions, so the buildings and the fortress appear in correct proportion to the units and vice versa. In the Third and Fifth screenshot, the foreground is very flat, a tad unrealistic though.

Other than that, no more critisims, just excellent work, I especially like the shots with the bridges in them!!

wow wolfy thats a lot of improvement really fast, great job man. Try livening things up in the fortress though.
Make paths, have some areas above others (like a hill with a few buildings on it) within the fortress.
Also, maybe try experimenting with multiple levels. creat wood planks and walkways around it maybe and use the ctrl+pg up keys to raise the floor, then use the same thing on other doodads so it looks like theyre actually on the platform (stay realistic though because i dont think i few planks could hold up a barracks :P)
Although a square fort may be easy, try making different shapes (maybe a triangle, L-shaped fort, or a small square area attached to a larger one.)

Also, dont be afraid to make custom doodads with unit or building models, itll help a lot (you can rotate an adjust height an x,y,and z as much as you want ^_^)

Complete bollocks, you gotta be harder Peon. Anyway did you gusy see the terain? It had no fog, two tiles, no enviromental doodads, the background was blank, units and buildings were randomly added and there were huge gaps between them. The only thing that made this look a tiny bit good is reinlesses models, otherwise, this quite frankly, sucks.
