For this one, I used that awesome tutorial by Ogre... well, I suppose it's obvious. about 20 mins.

And yet a fancy landscape... a puddle pool of sky between some hills... well, some sort of lake. about 30mins

HUAHUAHUA!!

I thought that first one looked oddly familiar before I read your comment.

Looking at the first and second one, I'd say a larger brush size would be in order considering how finished you want these to look. The smaller brushstrokes don't sit with me as well if they aren't as controlled. Alternately, you can vary your size, to add visual interest with a contrast between large and small. Don't forget hard and soft; that is an important contrast to remember as well.

I did a quick overpaint of your second to give it a more atmospheric look. Remember that things do look different as they are affected by the atmosphere as they recede into the distance. I have come to be more aware of this since I've come to live in the mountains. I just took a big brush 150 pix, 30 opacity and 20 flow, and on a layer set to lighten, pulled some colors from the sky and went over the hiils in succesive amounts.

But seriously, great work. I'm glad to see your tablet is gathering no moss.

Crazy shizzles man! That's awesome :D

I like the mood in the first one... turbulence in the force. lol

Ogre's retouch really makes your 2nd pic better. But youre landscape quickies are good nonetheless. ^^b
