Guest | I've got a wisp flying in my map, but when he turns he jerks around a lot. I've tried playing with turn rate, etc. Any ideas? |

That happens to all Air Units, they tilt when they turn. |

To stop that change the fields of the unit Art - Maximum pitch angle and Art - Maximum roll angle. I think that'll work. |

Good, you found out how to make it work, I tested making the Unit Hover, and edit the Height to a height of a flying unit, then trying to make the unit hover over walls and whatnot, as well as being targeted as an air unit. It's a worthy test if you would ever want an air unit that can't hover over walls without massing Pathing blockers. (hence, air unit - ;) ) |

What values did you set the Wisp's Pitch and Roll to exactly? Although I'm not sure that altering those stats will effect flying units. |

Guest | Went by increments of .5 up and down. Nothing really seemed to change it. Basically when it turns, it makes most of the turn and then jerks the rest of the way. I've noticed that this only happens with the wisp, was thinking that it's something do with its shape. The pivot point at which it turns when it's set to fly isn't in the middle of the sphere, it's somewhat behind it. Maybe a way to change that? |

why does it matter it's a wisp, a ball of energy, you can't tell up from down. Anyways the only way to change a pivot point is through some rather basic MDL editing. what do you mean it jerks up? Anyways it doesn't really matter, you'd hardly see this in game would you? |

Like darkhorde said, if its a pivot point issue, some basic MDL editing would be the solution. However, I just checked, and the pivot point on the wisp is infact at the center of mass. That is not the problem. |

Guest | Alright, I've figured it out, but unfortuneatly it's one of those things that I've found out how it works and not why it works. If I set the height minimum to 0, and the max roll and max pitch to 0, it behaves as it should. Even though I've got it working, I was hoping maybe someone could shed light as to why that is. |

Perhaps sence 0 is its lowest fly-height, it no longer rotates on an angle, due to the fact that it can be anywhere without raising or lowering. Just speculation. |
