OK I know what you're going to say... it's a DotA so I'm lame or whatever but just hear me out...

REPEAT! If you are planning on flaming me, save it!

Okay, so a few friends and I (we call ourselves Kage Oni Studios) have been working on this DotA map that we were hoping to release for a long time but we just aren't getting it done. It has been in pre-alpha stages for far too long, and as I am the only one of my friends who still seems to want to even FINISH the stupid thing, I am looking for help.

Now, about the map itself. It is called DotA Soul Harvest, and we want it to be a DotA, not some lame ripoff with a different title (sorry guys but a DotA is a DotA no matter what you call it). However, we have introduced several new features/gameplay mechanics.

The first and foremost of these features is the "soul harvest system" in which every time you kill a creep you get a "soul" (lumber with a different icon) and with this soul, you may use different abilities to give you an edge in battle. For example, by typing -a you spend 5 souls and gain a temporary speed bonus, or by typing -s you spend 7 souls and gain invulnerability for a certain duration. What we were hoping to accomplish with this system is a game that involves a lot more skill, and an ability to multitask than to just creep up buy a powerful item and win.

Secondly, the item recipes are out. No Burizes or whatever. We just don't think the whole powerful item thing makes for a fun and balanced game. Instead what we have done is added a merchant who sells all sorts of use items, including damaging items, defensive items, etc. that are all realatively cheap, but have a certain amount of charges. Again, we were hoping this would make for a game that involves skill rather than accumulation of gold. We were toying with the idea of allowing upgrades for the use items... but I don't know how well that would turn out.

Third, we were attempting to equip our heroes with very unique, trigger-driven abilities that are themed, and match a certain play style. I'd rather not share any of these unless you are really interested in helping me, but rest assured that the heroes aren't all rehash of other heroes.

Other than that, we were hoping for it to be a normal DotA. Our main goal was to make a DotA that required skill but was still fun.

So, if you are interested in this project, email me at [email protected]. REPEAT, EMAIL ME. I WILL NOT BE CHECKING THE FORUMS, AS I RARELY POST HERE! You can also reach me on AIM at scioninja. To those that took the time to read this, thank you.

Ok, for the last god damn time, they are not called DotA's. All these maps are based on an old map called Aeon of Strife, they are AoS style maps, not fucking DotA's. Get your facts straight moron.

For one your "inovative ideas" are hardly new. Your first idea is basically just using gold but with a new name. Your second idea is complete crap as well, just because you make them consumables doesn't mean gold isn't important. Your third one is so stupid, 90% of maps use triggered, themed-based abilities, this is not a new thing.

k whatever. I knew i couldn't do it without being flamed, as the warcraft community is full of assholes such as yourself. Screw warcraft, screw wc3campaigns, and most definitely screw you. Oh and for the record, I know what Aeon of Strife is, I played it back in the Starcraft days, sonny. If I had wanted to make an Aeon of Strife map, I would have said that's what I wanted.

Love and Peace!

Pfft. What a waste of thread space. I found the 'sonny' part quite funny... makes you sound like your eighty. You seem to say 'screw' a lot, that can't be good for you.

everyone just knows how to flame here, instead of giving opinions?
what a waste of a thread. a person is asking for team members, what the hell does flaming him help in any way? ffs.. grow up.
