Glacier Terrain

Well I've been trying to do some different things recently to fight the boredom of terraining the same old stuff. So I started out on trying to create a glacier, it turned out terribly in my opinion. So I need some feedback so I can try to make it better.

Since the beginning of time a small band of powerful wizards had been controlling the weather on YogStran. Eventually they all started to lose their powers, except for one of the wizards, Reun. Reun's power grew, and with it his judgment slowly deteriorated. The other wizards, worried of Reun's growing power banished him to eternity on a glacier; forever trapped in the mortal realm.

This wasn't enough to stop Reun's burgeoning power. Eventually the mortals of Hutio discovered him and attempted to capture him. They sent all of their strongest men to the glacier; very few even made it that far. Reun managed to destroy all but two ships which landed on the foot of the glacier. Reun incinerated every man until only their skeletons remained. Reun's current location is a mystery...

This is just some lore from a very large universe that was going to be for some stories, never worked out really.

hmm, the main problem of it is it lacks environmental doodads and tile variation.
And i think the terrain is too smooth for a mountain, I suggest you use rough on its edges.

Hope those helped. :D

I went back with your suggestions and made it look better. Sadly it still doesn't look very good. I'm not used to making mountains so this is good practice.

I wonder who has the time to restock all those braziers with fresh wood and flame. Not to mention drying up the books that grow wetter every time snow lands on them and soaks them.

You need environmental doodads. Not props/structures. Environment. Like Glaciers. Crystals. Floating chunks of ice on the water below. Ice blocks. Ice claws. Rocks.
