The D&D Mod is an RPG in which the character will be a D&D hero playing a role with spells and feats that are based on the DnD books. You will have allies on a quest for bloodlust, experience, riches, and nothing less than to save the world based on the story so wonderfully made by our story-writer.
The D&D MOD will start this February 2003. This mod is planned to be finished by June 2003 and to be de-bugged, profected, and released by October 20, 2003 (Please note this is not to be confused with the DM Mod).
My team and I have done everything from basic trouble-shooting to storyline design and we will (provided a little more support beyond what we already have) have the beta out by by September 20, 2003.
The extent of the plan is to have everything completely re-done in such a way that the one remaining peice of the original Warcraft 3 is the WC3 game engine itself. The interface will drasticly changed and unique to our RPG. The sound will be unique (even foley and weather). The units will be unique and considerably more realistic than the standard quality WC3 units. We can do this in less than a year with enough teamwork. We currently have many open slots and sign-ups begin NOW.
My team and I are currently looking for: (In order of most needed)

Modelers (3ds Max (prefered) or MilkShape)

Skinners (Image Modders and Artists. We will need you from the start since we will not be using stanard tileset and will need skin up up some new stuff for the Terrain Designers to use)

Cinematic Designers (You know what you do)

Voice actors (Vocalists and as the voices of main characters)

MPQers [People that can identify files in the mpq that are useful and possibly edit them since not yet all data has been know to editable as of yet]

Triggerers (Both standard and programing-code-text using; you can expert in either of these areas)

Terrain Designers (Need Some people in Tileseting and landscape designing)

Icon Designers (Interface icons this also requires artists occassionaly)

Story-Editors (We already have a Story Writer.. sorry....)

I'll assist you, in exchange for some assistance on my own campaign. Especially in the modeling department. I'm pretty good at skinning, (or so I've been told) and some older examples can be found in the gallery forum.

I have been told that animating .mdx files and making things like portraits, units, and spells move has not yet been made possible, so if this is true then those who are good at exploring the .mpq will be all the more important to finding out how, however if this is false then please tell me how to do this otherwise it will likely be another week to the production time of the D&D mod while the mpq. is explored to discover how. By the way nice skin job, Iceslushee if that was just a fast make then you are pretty good with whatever drawing program you use so consider yourself part of the team. More official newsletters will be sent (by e-mail) shortly after we have some more people sign-up. Also as a sidenote to the message above we are modding EVERYTHING in WC3 the maximum hero level will 150 to start with and later expansions will make that number go even higher furthermore the standard overhead veiw will be replaced by first-person-veiw and even less noticed things like walking sounds and hit sounds will be changed EVERYTHING that is in WC3 will be completely changed to D&D so any unusual skills in areas not modded well yet will very important to the D&D mod team.

u know the animation of the peasant carrying the corpse i want to be able to either have that used in it somewhere or mess about with the model cos i think its something that isnt often used

I'm very good at textures, so I'd love to work on the terrain tilesets, however I've never designed textures for a game before. I don't think that will be much of a problem though.

all u need to do doc is basically come up with some goods, now all us peeps have offered our combined services but u need to show some work get the first map started at least the texture and placement of units etc.. u know give a demo show some triggs whatever but if u want to wait and let all these people do the work for you well you aren't going to achieve much
