The Infection Introduction * I will edit this first post as new info is released. Always look here first for updates. UPDATE : 7/1 - Scyze joins team Backstory Blizzard's hold over Battlenet has faded with the release of their new game World of Warcraft. A new onslaught of hackers have struck at the system's mainframe loosing user-killing viruses into the fray. Dead users and viruses have infiltrated the game, weaking havoc and disrupting the entire system's stability, threatening to bring Battlenet itself crashing down. Blizzard's reduced GM presence is asking all willing to members to meet at the few safe channels left to help fight back the opponents of unknown intents. Basic Gameplay From a Blizzard Outpost Channel accept missions acquired through GM intelligence reports to enter into different maps ( small arenas spread throughout the map ) with the aid of other players of Bnet ( yes this is a multiplayer map ). Unravel the true intent of Bnet's invaders as you progress through different maps in the hope of stopping them once and for all. - Maps ( Arenas ) are set-up by your user's level and how many people are entering. As you level there will be different maps to enter, each to be done in whatever order you wish or not at all if you decide to repeat certain ones. Certain maps have requirments of a certain amount of people to be enterable, others only by discovering secret information and reporting it to Blizzard personnel. Some arenas will have scalable options allowing for players to redo older arenas and still recieve decent xp/items ect. - Chronicles will allow for 12 players who all could technically be doing different maps by themselves, be in small teamed groups, or group all 12 of them together. Generally private games would likely be set up so people are of ideal classes that work together well and be more likely to tackle the bigger challenges, but not necessarily. - You create a user ( Hero ) on start-up which can be one of three races, each with unique strengths / weaknesses and restrictions on classes. ( Note : Bonuses pending ) - Normal User - A normal user of Bnet. They are the most diverse and balanced of the three races yet this prevents them from more... unique abilities. - Undead User - Users killed and brought back by use by the viruses are dubbed as Undead. Some however have been captured by Blizzard HQ and reprogrammed to work to their use. - Infected User - The viruses are known to glitch certain users causing them to lose their control over their own actions and in some cases self-terminate. Certain infected users have been cured to the best extent they can but still retain moments of lost control. - As a new user you will only be able to choose from two classes but as you level more classes will open up for you to choose. As of now I have 14 classes planned out in detail, and 22 total as the ideal number for the initial release. Depending on which classes you choose early on, different classes will open up as choices to you. Eventually I want to add secret classes that would still be balanced but only attainable by certain means ( Not for the initial release ). - I'm a big fan of items. Not sure if I can blame Diablo II for this but either way I plan on having an extensive amount of items attainable through purchase, drops in maps, ect. I'm unsure as wether or not to implement equipment slots ( helm, weapon, ect. ) and already have a class limiting system in place ( certain classes can't use certain items ). They'll be split into rarities of... - Common - Items that drop on a regular basis and contain small bonuses. Will usually be sold to vendor or used if - Magic - Slightly rarer then items of common worth, magic items have a modest amount of abilities and will usually be the bulk of a newer user's equipment. - Rare - As the name implies rares are items of some rarity, usually the result of a boss drop. Rare items have a very good amount of abilities. - Unique - These items are generally very rare and tend to be the some of the best items that can drop for their level. Unique items will generally drop off bosses though not necessarily. - Set Items - Items that when worn together provide extra bonuses are dubbed as set items. They tend to run in rarities between rare and unique. - Ancient - Ancient items are of such age their exact properties are unknown. Unless a way to scry their use is found, any ancient items that drop will be useless to their finder. - Completing missions in addition to gold and other rewards nets you TP points to spend on minor unit upgrades. I'm a bit cautious on the addition of TP points due to possible imbalances and may wait a while to consider implications of them before implementing. - A Save / Load system is essential and has been implemented. The Team - Before I get into what I need I'll get into what I'll be doing. - Trigger ( Non-JASS , afraid I'm not to good with code, the GUI is just easier for me. Parts such as the item drop system / and save/load are however in JASS but that'd about it ) - Terrain - Any Database Info ( Units / Items ect. ) - Ect. - What I Need Anyone who helps would be considered as much as a party of the creation of this map as I am and would recieve equal mention wherever I would also be. We would be a team, plain and simple. - Co-Triggerers ( 1 / ? ) While I have no problems doing triggers the fact of the matter is there's alot of things to be done. Someone to help trigger some of the arenas and heros ( I dislike creating heros though I can do it ) would be greatly appreciated. Someone to help balance the game wouldn't go awry either. Current Co-Triggerers : Zoxc / Scyze -Testers ( 0 / ?) Since many of the people that used to play have gone I'm left with no one to test my map with online. Alot of things need to be checked to make sure they work over bnet and not just when I single player test the map. Please post if interested in helping with this aspect. Current Testers : None Closing Notes If you have any questions or comments ( I'd love to hear any ideas on this concept ) feel free to ask here. I have no inhibitions about revealing any aspect of this map as it's of course being made for populace of War3 to play and enjoy, and give me something besides DoTA and Footmen Frenzy to play online. Well I'll admit I'm not the best at explaining things, so hopefully the map will speak for itself when it comes time for release. |

Maybe you can post some screenis when the trees are falling :) |

Perhaps can you also make some faction of not-so-evil hackers, who would be both against Blizzard total control and against their brethren annihilating their favorite game. |

We're using an edited Dalaran tileset, so none of those would be available to use to us and I'm not exactly sure what it's for? |
