I'm a n00b terrainist. I call this one: "Maybe this is a bad idea...."

If you look very closely into the background, you'll find murlocs, watching those playing in THEIR oasis.

its good for a first terrain in my opinion, the olny problem i see is that you used blizzard's cliffs for the oasis, if you dont know how to make the non-blizzard water cliffs all you have to do is first make the path of water you want useing the water tool them fill the water in with land, then use the raise and lower tool to make a nicer looking more natural cliff make sure inforce water hieght limit ISNT on, just go under advanced in editor and uncheck that, also more variation in tiles would help make it a little better

left is bad right is good

I do know how to make those; I just prefered the blizzard cliffs in this instance because I wanted it to look more like a watering hole. I wanted it to look slightly more cliffy.

i understand the look you were going for and you did a nice job achieving it. i do see some tree floaters tho you prob wna fix that. maybe add some more scrub or things like that to fill in the gaps. where the trees are its to flat but where the trees arent it isnt lol. on the hills add some doodads. otherwise it looks pretty good. maybe some lillypads in the water or some other water plants.

Hmm. I don't like the vines or whatever that is hanging around the edge of the water, makes it look "filled". The background has no detail on it, so it takes away from the scenery in the front. Make sure when your taking a screenshot to remove all the things that make it look like a game. Example, the circle is still around the civilians feet, which takes away from the picture.

All in all, well done for you first terrain.

Deserts have dunes, so I can't really detail the desert much....

Reguarding the circle around his feet, I am stupid. =D

The reason why I said no detail in the background is that I really don't see a desert having clouds.

Are clouds afraid of deserts?

Not at all, it just didn't suit it in my opinion... but it is just my opinion. :P
