Skin Degration

Tim.
Alright now for my current mod I use some high detail skins, for weapons mainly. Below is how the gun should appear:
Zoom (requires log in)
And here is how it does appear:
Zoom (requires log in)
This of course is normal for wc3, however, is there a way to make the degration shown here less? I already tired lowering and increasing the Color Depth as well as altering the compression value for converting from TGA to BLP.

...Thank you for that Wormskull.
Side Note: That 'Cube' is a hand holding the gun, if you look in-game.

I will now attach another image in-game to show the problem, perhaps it will be easier to see.

you know how quake skins work?
you make the photoshop skin and then adjust the colors pallete in the tester.
Warcrafts color pallete cannot be changed so far as I know of...
Though luck Tim,thats warcraft color pallete for you...

Well...No reply?

Anyway here is yet again another case of the issue.

A) How it should look.

B) How it does look.

Note the two stripes on the side of the shotgun where normally there is a gradual change in color.

I told you before...
warcraft 3 color pallete.
It is programed with the game.you can not mod it...
find the correct patterns and wich colors work and then test the gun.
warcraft is an old game after all...
anyways you shotgun skin needs more highlights.

I get that, but is there anyway to find the pallete warcraft is using so I dont have to continually convert, import, and then test over and over untill I find somthing that works properly?

color palletes are programed in the warcraft3.exe

The only way I can think of to change it is if you are a game programer and you hack the warcraft3.exe and "upgrade" the existing one.
but then...the framerate of warcraft will be lower.

I know you wont be doing the above so heres a quicker testing solution.

1.make a few replicate models of the shotgun or pistol, but in the blp change the path of everyone to something different,
2.make a seperate skin for everyone
3.test,if does not work, change skins until perfected

IF I were you I wouldnt do so many highdetail things in warcraft because its an old game.
Try quake 3,doom3 or unrealturnament2k4.
The an easy solution to making the shotgun beter is more highlights.

quesyion, is it going to be THAT much first person, because if not it wouldn't matter... and who REALLY pays THAT much attention? i dont, if you wouldn't have said anything, i probley wouldn't have notice when (if) i played your map.

Tim.
Dr.R: Modeled them and then textured them with ripped skins.

Killa_Demon1833: People may not pay that close attention, but I still want to exhaust all options before letting poor quality in a map I produce.

Wormskull: Nah that doesn't help.

Its the palletes, yes, I was just curious if anyone knew the exact values for the Wc3 pallete so I could more easily design the skins.

Side note: 'Guest' was not me.
