Guest | :stolen_emote: What about this? My first "attempt" to realy make a terrain. I named it "Welcome to Outland" couse what you see is a fel orc standing on a mountain spying out in Outland for enemys, sadly, the only thing that's awake is a wyvern flying over some cliffs. But someone has to have the watch... Whatza think? :god_help_us: |

Guest | BTW, sorry for the size, but it couldn't be large since the file limit.. :[ |

For gods sake, please don't post .bmp's.. Use .jpg instead. I uploaded it as .jpg so people with slow connections don't have to load that one picture for hours. Umm.. what can I say. Just one red mountain and two units. And lots of fog.. Fog can be your friend, but if you use it too much.. well.. this is a good example of what will happen. |

It looks empty... I think adding more would be nicer. |

That is stupid, to terrain you have to put in some effort, and have you ever seen a bare landscape? Like no roacks, bushes, thorny things anything? I doubt it. So what you wanna get is: Tile variation which means use lots of different types of tyles. Doodads you know you press D and a meny with doodads come up..Mabe you haven't figured that out yet hmmm? Get reid of that thick fecking fog for gods sake, it's covering up any eventual goodness in this pic, and finally spend time on what you do! My rating for this pic is 0/10 it's not even terrain in my eyes. |

YES! i'm so proud of you guys for ragging on a new user. GOOD JOB! seku, if you stay on wc3c long enough, you can feel superior too! seriously now, what the fuck was that? you could at least nudge him in the right direction instead of giving him a fuckin pushkick towards the 'you suck go away' side of the forum. jeezus. anyway, seku, you'll wanna read this thread here. explains how to take and upload screens. you'll also wanna check out how other people terrain, what techniques they use, what doodads, shit like that. important thing is to not get discouraged. hell i made shittier terrain than that back in the day. we didn't even have fog to cover up the shit parts. we didnt know about the raise tool. but just keep going, and learn. and stuff. |

But you would think that before he posted his terrain he did see some other terrain done on this forum. He should at least read other "my first terrain" threads to get tips, but it seems that todays forumers lack the brains to even do that. And if you comare his first terrain to most others and you will find that this really stinks. My brohter could do this and he is four. Off topic, Nice ava beam. It's asian week in the art forum? |

I personally like the fog, I mean, Outland is another dimension, it can look how you want it to look. With a bit a tile variation and some doodads, you could have a nice pic there. |

There is a point in everything I say, just look for a few weeks and you will find it:8 Anyway I was a bit mean there, I am at work and had just found out all 36 ways I could die here, so I was a bit too harsh, but still he might want to look at some of the other "first terrain" threads, because we seem to be posting the same tips every time. |

Anyway about the terrain, I like the idea of it. And the fog i think is great. It puts a more mysterious atmosphere. But like as everyone says, you should've put some doodads since doodads are the terrain's heart. Good luck! :D |

Guest | Thanks for the replys, but this is real crap, (by the way, Beam, my name is Seruk ;) ), I made this in, em, about approx 10minutes. o_O See, there isn't any doodads (which I make in everyone of my maps), couse it's outland, and those trees in outland is, eh, not very beutiful. I think I will post another one here soon (now I'm kinda busy at maps 'n' mods and real life) which will be better. ^_^ I know, I DO am annoying, but anyway, Bacon to tha people! ////SERUK//// |
