Well, I have this awesome idea for an RPG.. i will post actual details later, but for now i need some questions answered to see if its possible or not.

Firstly.. Is possible to edit game code so i can use i can set up some up a LAN game using Hamachi and start the game, and still have it displayed in LAN games so people can join and leave as they wish while game is running.

Secondly is it possible to change the MAX players?

Is it possible to edit interface to change where health is, add feature such a target window, ect.

Is it possible to make a map bigger than like 470x470???

Also, i need some help on creating a Multiboard with local variables

Basically, im asking if it possible to edit game code.. and if so can i anyone help me do it? If atleast some of these things are possible..

Want to start a team to make a total conversion of warcraft to make it an RPG?

No, it's not possible to my knowledge.

I've heard about people somehow using the 4 extra players ( the extra computer slots ) to extend the number to 16 players, however I guess you're thinking of 100's of players. Again, not really possible.

Not really, you could of course use triggers to show the information in say, a player's gold or lumber or food. Or use a leader board. But you can't customize your own new area to display text or information as an extension of the UI.

It's been a while since I've actually tried to make a map of maximum size, but if that size is the biggest the editor allows in the newest patch of FT. Then No, you can't make any bigger to my knowledge.

This possible of course, I'm sure there's a tutorial somewhere though...

Yeah I gathered that's what you were interested in, I personally can't help. I'm not sure if anyone really can... whatever you made, it definately wouldn't be playable on battle.net though, that's for sure.

If someone else says its possible, then yeah, I'd like to see how the process is done and I'd help out. But I'm doubtful, sorry.

Frankly, it'd probably be easier to make a decent java/flash based online 2d game for people's web browsers.

Good luck though.

470X470???? the max is 256x256! and no it can't go any bigger, Blizzard already nice enuff to allow us to use Custom models and Change interfaces and other Neat things, Recreating an already made game would be abusing the challenges in using what is given to us. Let me ask you this question, If you are even planning on hacking the game code and making it into a MMORPG, how would u even save the players and items? You can't use game cache, and the only way would be text, so even if u trigger off the game code, would you have the knowledge to make up a save code?

Metaco, sorry if this sounds offencive but, if you have heard of WE Enhancer (WE Unlimited) you will find out that maps can get as large as 480x480. in my opinion thats too large though ^_^

Another thing is that you can save characters using Triggers... though its a bit advanced, you can make saving codes that save everything from gold, lumber, hero level, items to facing angle, exact hero position and the players account name (account name can be used so people cant steal other peoples characters ^_^ )

Joey.
??? anyway, yes, it is possible to edit Map Bounds and Camera Bounds to 470 using WEU (World Editor Unlimited) as well as Max Unit Size, Number of Tilesets available, and much more. But, the Idea of creating an ORPG using any sort of 3rd party program sounds kind of syund to me. But anyway, I'm all for it if you really want to try.
