Guest | I was wondering if anyone modelled with Rhino? I'm not a big modeller due to the fact I'm horrible, but does anyone use Rhino? It's the only product I can think of to model with... :\ |

nah better get 3dsmax 7, it is more powerfull than any tool for polygon modelling and is really good for making movies (with blobmesh[good for liquid] and particle flow[allows you to control you particles' events]), what else could you ask? I have even found 3dsmax 7 more powerfull than Maya 6.5 itself |

hmm they can be used if your will is to create a cinematic for your campaign, only problem is that u would need to get the 3dsmax extra plug ins for making a good cinematic as blizzard's(between the plug ins: Hairfx around 384$, Clothfx around 400$, Color Correct Free, AfterBurn Around 700$, RioBrazil Around 1208$). |

I have Rhinoceros, and I use it exclusively. Extremely simple interface and actually very powerful. Obviously not as powerful as 3DS Max or Maya, but it's great. Rhino can also save in a format openable by Maya and 3DSMax, so you can model in Rhino and texture in the other programs. Personally, I would like to create an entire starcraft based epic. Not a campaign, but perhaps a simple multi-player level (palyer vs. player). Also, would someone tell me how I would go about creating the animations? First off, give me a demo. I would like to create the terran siege tank. For those who dont know what a siege tank is, it is a tank that is build by a factory (a building of the Terrans (humans)). Once upgraded, the tank can enter siege mode, where it becomes stationary and switches its weapon from the 'arclite cannon' to the 'arclite shock cannon' and deals a much greater amount of damage. The animation would include the tank deploying 3 'feet' from the front, and 2 sides. The 2 cannons on top tuck in, and the siege cannon is deployed in the back. It lifts up and becomes a rotatable turret, as the arclite cannon was. In this mode, its attack is increased from 30 to 70 and its range is nearly doubled. |
