Max 5 - Show Map In Viewport with Composite?

I'm using Max 5, and apparently, whenever I change the base material to Composite (like all WCIII models that use Art Tools), the "Show Map In Viewport" thing gets grayed out.

What the hell? Does this mean I can never see my map/texture in the viewport when I'm making a WCIII model? Or is there a quirk I don't know of?

I might be a little late to tell you know, you might've already figured it out, but the thing is that you can only turn it on inside the maps. The composite map doesn't actually contain an image itself, but the maps you put in it does. Try clicking one of the free map slots and make a Warcraft III material, go down to the diffuse map and add your texture, then click the view in viewport button and drag it onto your model.

I watched it just now, and redid mine just to make sure, and I'm 99.9999% sure that I did EXACTLY what u did, except with mine, after I apply the Bitmap (TGA) texture, the box is still grayed out...

o_O

EDIT: I did it again and it worked this time... seems its very picky about the precise order that functions are carried out. ;)

Thanks for the help!
