dawn of the dead 3-4 UI

just wondering about the UI of dawn of the dead 3-4?
the removed portions on top and bottom .. are they caused by importing a file.. or changing the interface to a image with no color/alpha? would be greatly appreciated if someone helped me! haha thanks in advance
