Ok me and some other people are starting a Singleplayer RPG, not some WoW kinda thing, it's not going to be very free roamnig. Anyway here is the story so far (bare in mind that this is a rough version and will be updated later). Oh, and here is the team: Terrain: Me, [Death] and Murcielago) Cinimatics: Player_72985, [Death] Story: Fladian Skinners: Me (still room for one more!) Poor attempt to make it a beautiful thread: Fladian (Oh, yes, I editted this) Modelers: Albiino-I ‘Fear', that's just a word with a meaning. ‘People fear war', it's a sentence that means that ‘people are afraid of a war.' But if you would be honest to yourself, would you say it is the ‘war' that you “fear, or would it be something else? It's not the “war people fear, it's not the “death that people fear either. People are afraid of being afraid; it's as simple as that. They fear being afraid, they are afraid to experience the real fear. But how many people have experienced true fear? Many people have experienced true fear, but it was not because they were afraid to die, it is because they are afraid to see their friends die. They fear of being left all alone, to be alone, to have no one left to care for them then. But when do you really die? Do you die when you are being killed, or die by age? Or do you die when you are forgotten in other people's mind? All these thoughts shoot in your mind at a certain time and combine at one place. All these thoughts will appear when you are standing, alone in the cold night while the rain can be heard when it falls on the armor of fallen comrades and those who still live. When you are standing there, in a place you prefer to forget, with people you never met and to watch at your friends who lay before you – dead. But being a soldier as it is, you have little choice in the matter. You are there to follow orders, and those orders are to protect the castle. The castle that is well known for being called, ‘the Spire of the Sea', as the castle is built on a hill and has one large tower sticking out of the castle, or also being known as, ‘the Spire.' General Desmond Armstrong has located himself with some troops in front of the castle. After we were being attacked, all troops were assembled and most of us were ordered to secure a certain location. Luckily, the group I am in exists out of an amount of several friends of mine. Perhaps I'm not that lucky about it though, it is extremely painful to see one of them get hurt. The idea is to notify General Armstrong when we are under attack so he can send reinforcements – naturally, it was General Armstrong's idea. It's unfortunate that he didn't think about the fact that sending reinforcements from the castle to the place of the battle is taking too long. But except for that idea, Armstrong is an excellent leader though not very kind to his fellow soldiers, superiors or enemies. Fortunately, Commander Allan Cleveland is leading us. Commander Cleveland is a man that has different ideas than General Armstrong and finds it more important to save soldiers instead of completing missions. Therefore, our group suffered the least amount of casualties. Or at least, we used to have the least amount of casualties… Yesterday night, we were under attack without notification of anyone. We already lost a high number of people before we even noticed we were under attack. If it wouldn't have rained that night, we never would have noticed we would have been attacked, and we never would have waken up out of our sleep. We suddenly ended up with a large amount of casualties and more than one death. We lost more than twenty men in that battle and we did not even manage to stop all of the enemies who went passed us. But sending someone to warn General Armstrong now is far too late. Commander Cleveland found it more important to tend to our wounds first as well. He is willing to take the responsibility of the attack and possible casualties that may appear near General Armstrong. Now we stand here, waiting for the next wave of attacks. With tears in my eyes, pain in my heart and fear in my body, I looked at the dark forest that was ahead of us. Even though Commander Cleveland's team was created for defense, not for attack, we waited there, like a tiger waiting for its prey. “Robert! Robert! I could only scream as I saw my friend dropping to the ground while an arrow was pierced through his armor. I ran at him and fell on my knees when I saw him falling to the ground. I saw the blond man falling to the ground, while he grabbed the wound with his left hand. He surely tried to say something, but only blood came out of his mouth. Rain combined itself with the blood of Robert making it an awful mess. I could see people falling to the ground every moment, it was either because he was stabbed to death, or it was the same painful death as Robert had – an arrow that pierced through his chest. The attack caught us on surprise; no one expected an attack at that moment, not to mention that about all of us were sleeping. Assassins killed those that weren't sleeping, in an instant. We never saw them coming. “Leave him, Karina! I could hear Commander Cleveland scream at me as he pulled my arm and got me back on my feet. “He's dead! You can't help him anymore! Cleveland yelled at me as he continued fighting two enemy soldiers at the same time. The moment I heard Commander Cleveland finish his sentence, I suddenly felt a loud smash on my back. I fell to the ground the same moment I heard the sound and the hit while my back start to hurt. From that moment I truly noticed, that this wasn't a game you could stop anytime, but it was really a battle. A battle to the end, until one of the two groups completely died. I looked to the left when I was on the ground and I saw an other soldier, hidden under crates and other things we placed our supplies in. I saw him sitting with his knees pushed against his chin and his blade next to his feet. Just for a split second, I could hear him whisper “let it stop and hear him repeating the same words over and over again. I could even saw a little pool of water under him – I presumed it was water. Tears were falling from my eyes as I felt someone fall on top of me while his blood ran over my helmet. “Stand up, Karina! You're not dead yet! I could hear Jeffrey yell at me, who was still standing and fighting, even though his armor was torn to shreds and his wounds were intense. Jeffrey was a rookie, like me, but he was skilled in battle. He proved himself more than once in battle when fighting several enemy soldiers. Then there was Graven, who also called out for me. I met Graven when I signed up for the army. Graven was a man who was very brave but also somewhat arrogant. He does not know his limit and does not know fear, or so he said. He also told me, he was interested in me and would like to build a relationship when the two of us were save some day. But now, Graven was fighting for his life, and other lives while I lay on the ground, hoping not to be spotted. I could also see Alex fight. A young boy who fought to survive and nothing else. He lost his family in the war before and had no one left to care for. In other words, he had nothing to lose, and if you have nothing to lose, then you can fight truly. On the left of me, I could see Dean fight. He was a man who is already familiar with the battlefield, in opposite of everyone else. His girlfriend was captured and together with his friends, he went to the enemy's camp to safe her. In the end, everyone was killed, his friends, his girlfriend and he lost his right eye. I tried to talk with him before, but he clearly tries to avoid me when I come close to him. It appears that he is trying to avoid contact with everyone because he doesn't want to care for anyone. I could hear all of them yell my name. Demanding that I stood up and fought on their side once again, because they were losing. But I didn't dare to stand up, I didn't dare to move. I only could close my eyes and in the hope that all of this would stop the moment I would close them. The moment I opened my eyes, the battle indeed stopped, but not in the way I hoped. I could see dead bodies everywhere I would look. I could also see people who were dying and people I did not know, who I presumed, was the enemy. Eitherway, none of them was moving. After looking around desperately, I could finally spot a group of soldiers who were resting. They were sitting on the wet sand, which turned more into mud that also was on their armor, combined with their blood. “Oh, are you wake, Karina? I could suddenly hear someone ask. I looked up and saw Commander Cleveland sitting a bit in front of me with his blade in front of him. The Commander was covered in injuries and looked really bad, but still he was able to smile while saying, “we survived, didn't we? SPECIAL FEATURES! Now these MIGHT be in the project, if John can/can be bothered^_^
Spellcasting Active spell casting o_O yes yes, anyway it involves casting the spells by using the arror keys to imput the right combination for the spell, eg up down up left casts fireball. Key Movement
Using W, D, S, A to move around. It has been done before, but it is cool.Autotarget System This system autotargets the closest enemy ( don't worry there won't be masses of enemys) so that your attacks and spells can be cast without having to select the unit with the mouse. So... Thats about it, it will get better I promise. o_O |

Uh... expect the story finished either today, tomorrow, or perhaps the day after. I'm doing some other things in the mean time to get some ideas to write at least something decent. At the moment, that's 'The Real Life', a thread that I am making in the Stories Galore forum. I hope that, that is enough to make me write something I can be satisfied with. In the mean time, you can start with a castle map, since that will be a must eitherway. You guys already discussed that a castle would be something in it, no matter what, so you might as well create one already. On a side note. Anyone knows what helps against muscles aches? |

Don't double post, Murc. I just deleted your second post. Plastic asked me to keep posting in the thread *uhhum*, so I will. Murc. though it is not 100% certain yet of what is necessary, it will be 100% certain that at the very least, one castle is necessary. You might want to start on that. You'll probably have to ask Plastic for more background information though. |
