Does anyone have a plugin for blender which can export models in warcraft 3 model format (either MDL or MDX would be fine)? It should be able to export animations, UV mapping and of course vertexing. Your help will be greatly appreciated! Rep assured. ;)

ive talked to deaddog, and all ive seen was an md5 export from blender. then an md5 importer to 3ds. its supposed to transfer bones, anims, uv and i htink lights. ill keep my eye out tho for an exporter, but maybe you should look at the mdl notes in the tool section and develope one. or ask rep or blinkboy.

The same problem I have. My brother made few cool blender models. I'm making a converter but it's hard. For now he exports Geosets and Normals.

If someone knows where is a description of MDL format please tell me.

Daelin : For geometry only export to DXF and using Biturn convert to 3ds.

I've seen, a while ago, 1 or 2 complete descriptions of the mdl arround this site... use the search engine.

Converter exports geometry but wc3fileconverter tells Unknown File Format. :( I'll post my mdl here and maybe someone correct that. I found mdl description but... what and how are organized TVertices and Faces. (i think in faces 3-vertexes mean one triangle and so on).

Daelin, why you use Blender??? I and my brother we think that blender is easier.
For importing models to blender search net for Warblender..

Blender? I couldn't even open an existing model. I don't know how. Hehe, besides, I'm already used to 3dsmax. So yeah, I prefer 3dsmax. It was hard for me to start getting how it works, so really, why should I change it once again? ^_^
