Minimap Importing Bug:

I can't import minimaps at all. I know HOW, war3mapPreview.tga 128x128 (Though I know 256x256 works as well, I've seen it done.)
But when I import my .tga, set the path to war3mapPreview.tga, and look at the minimap in game...it shows the minimap from Creatures of the Night. Anyone have ANY idea why this is? It's getting seriously annoying now.

Tim.
Please attach the TGA you are using and I'll try it myself.

Try this, I think you had the Color Depth too high. Dont have WE at the momment so I couldn't import for you to test.

Nope. Your version was 65KB, right? As soon as I imported it, the file showed in the import manager as 256KB, and when I tested? Yup, the minimap from CotN again...

oh well i think i got where the problem stands.

the file name is war3mapPreview.tga

where it should be War3mapPreview.tga

you noticed the W should be in caps.

That shouldn't matter, even the temp files are war3map.###
The CotN image is probably something only you can see. Sometimes when downloading a map you see the Image of a map you last opened in the World Editor - it only looks that way to you because of some sort of error.

It does matter. these days when working on my map i decided to import a skin, for a dh actually the path is Textures\HeroDemonHunter.blp and i wrote it Textures\HeroDemonhunter.blp and it didnt work,i changed that and the dh got that skin.

No luck. I tried renaming it, I tried all sorts. It's weird, the FILE actually changes. If I import it, then export it, the file that I get when I export is the minimap from CotN! It actually changes the f**king FILE!

Reinstall Warcraft 3. Its fairly quick and will probably fix the problem.

Would reinstalling delete all my maps? I've got well over 300mb of maps now, so copying them would take a while...

It shouldn't, but frankly it will only take, what, 2 mins to copy them somewhere else on your HDD for safekeeping.
