Guest | On blizzards World Editor it limits you to how big a map can be im wondering how to expand it even larger, I do know load time increases but I still want to know how to make it bigger and run smooth in-game. Thanks -GlowSkulls |

Well, Skull blocks out other site references (which is pretty dumb btw since this site discontinued Blink), but you can get the UMSWE 3.4 from "w w w . u m s m a p s . c o m" only without the spaces. -Insaniteus- |

Hmmm, umswe is available in the downloads section, but it seems to be down at the moment, so yeah, I guess the only place to get it is at w w w . u m s m a p s . c o m. It should be available from here once they get the site up and running again. Btw, I say this as somebody who spends 99% of his WC3-related websurfing at this site (lest it seem I have some ulterior motive): this web site blocking thing is silly and counterproductive. It would be one thing if I were repeatedly spamming wc3campaigns with a link, and it could even be debatable that posting a link in my sig could be construed as spamming, but for heaven's sake, the powers that be just look insecure and more than a little childish when they block out the competition like this. What sets this site far, far above most of the rest is its maturity. Why spoil that just for the sake of a little pettiness? |

Its not that hard. if you have zepirs map editor just choose to make a new map, click on the second tab when the window come up, set the entire map size to 480x480, and the playable map area to whatever you want. Playable map area determines how far the camera bounds extend in, so set it to something like 470 or 468. |

try to use W3ZMapEditor, It's flexibility can also help you with mapping and I think it can go up to 512x512 If you still dont have it, you'll have to wait until the downloads section goes back on |

I have a problem with making the maps over max:( I have made the map 480x480 and the playebal map area 470x470 in W3z map editor. But when I open the maps in UMSWE 3.4 edit them and save them the playebal map area goes down to 162x162 or something like that. What should I do? Isn't it possibel to make the maps 480x480 in UMSWE I only get them 480x52 when I try to do it. |

Forget any fancy editors. If you've got the WorldEditData.txt in your WarCraft 3 folder, open it up. Go down to the fields "Maximum map size" and "Default map size". Change those 2 to be what you want. If you don't have the WorldEditData.txt, use an MQPViewer to extract it from the war3.mpq or get in in a zip with the new map editors. Easy stuff. |

Be warned, the WE uses collective cells to create a map. The hardcoded number of cells is 36864 ( 192 x 192 ), and I don't think there is way to change that without totally ripping up the program = (. So once you pass that you're unable to edit the: loading screen, map properties. and map size and camera bounds in the WE itself. Ya can edit those somewhat by MPQ openin the map file, and editing the war3map.j file (someone posted how to do this a few days ago I believe, so it should be up top on the forum). You can set it to go past 512, to like 768, but it wont open in the WE (Can ya imagine how long it'd take to load a 1024x1024 map.. haha). If anyone has figured out how to increase the max number of cells, I'll be yer, um best friend = ). Edit : It seems Blizzard plans to increase the map sizes to 512x512 in the future without editing. |
