I need to be able to be able to export the vertex information(well, basically just the model itself) to .3ds so I can edit it. I tried to DL KMK's but it said it was forbidden access. How can I get this? BTW, I've got gmax, but I'd like to be able to edit the mesh in a different prog that I'm more used to. On the other hand, if anyone knew of a script or something to export .3ds out of gmax that works with KMK's import/export script, that'd work too. I can always just resort to modeling in gmax, but I'm just not as comfortable in it. |

If it's just vertex positions, normals, faces... No animations of course. =) Then you might have better luck converting it to .obj format. Black Dick (I think it was him, at least..) has a mdx->obj file converter. Getting an obj importer is probably the easiest thing to do.. -Fredric |

Ahh, see that would be great, since I had dug up his mdx to obj converter, but it requires the revolution3d engine v.8086, and all that's on the site is 8088, which doesn't work properly. If anyone has the 8086 files so the converter can work, I'd be much obliged. |

The best program for what you are talking about is biturn. If it isnt in the download section here i know it is at infoceptor.com |

Biturn screws the meshes up for .3ds, .obj, and even .lwo. Programs won't open the meshes it produces, and the formats(I've compared with regular meshes of those formats) are too scrambled to make any fixes. |
