Guest | I was trying to mod some spells and add them to my map but adding the abilitydata.slk didn't work. It just made my map a ton bigger. Can anyone walk me through how to add or remove spell info from my map after I've edited the abilitydata.slk file with the spelleditor application I found on these forums. |

Ok so, if you used a spell editor or any kind, I can't garauntee you 100% correct because I'm manually editing spells. Be sure that the path folder is correct Ex. "Units\Abilitydata.slk" Be sure your using the latest blizzard patch 1.04 Also I believe there's a bug with the abilitydata.slk with some text strings like, <race>abilitystrings.txt Finally, read some tutorials on the site, I know that they can teach you on how to use spell editors and edit them. |

Guest | Thanks I'll try that path. I don't think I used it. I could only find one real tutorial even though I see many of them mentioned. I did searches and everything and found nothing. |

Guest | Ok well I added the AbilityData.slk using the path units/AbilityData.slk but now when I load up the map it lags real bad at like 1 frame every 5 seconds and basically freezes up. Also unfortunately it seems you can't remove .slk files you've added to a map because I opened the map with with winmpq and deleted all the files I'd tried adding before and replaced em with the above pathed .slk but the map file didn't get smaller. It's now 2287 kb instead of the original 300 kb before I tried adding spells. Help! |

Guest | 1. Don't add in the original, just delete it and it will ask war3patch for the file 2. Its normal for a map to get larger as a file it normall doesn't have is added. 3. If it lags, the only reason I can think of is you have too many added abilities, try slowing down and doing one at a time. I would still check with the tutorials for help. If it still lags, then give up and try with a smaller map. |

Guest | Well is there any way I can delete the files I've added so the map goes back to normal size? Cause I have a whole lot of stuff added while I was trial and error testing that I want to get rid of. Also I only edited one spell so that's not why it's lagging. Is it because I'm attaching the entire abilitydata.slk file instead of just the spell files I modded or what? |

Just save the map again with WE and all the files will be blow away. :D |

Guest | I suppose I could try making Unit's capitalized. Thanks for the tip on clearing the map of the atachments. I was worried it was ruined :) Now if only someone would make a tutorial on a way to attach spells to a map after modding them in the spell editor. |
