Hello everyone, first time posting here. I screwed up with my Crono0001 account, so if the admins could just kill that account, it'd be good. Anyways, I have created a map named: Naruto Battle Arena. I use the Wc3 Map Optimizer 3b. My map is full with imported images, custom heroes, and custom spells. However, it has a tendency to cause WC3 to have a "Fatal Error" with memory allocation. I'm not sure what this is due to. Is my map corrupt? I have never tried playing the original version, but I'm thinking it might be my map compiler. If I can get a host, I will try to host it and let everyone download it. Thank you for your assistance. |

Do you use WEU? Or anything like that? I heard that if you use one of the triggers that only that program can use, without backing them up with another trigger... It will cause crashes. |

No, I use the regular WC3 World Editor. I have now discovered that it is NOT my map compiler, and is the original file itself. I'm not sure what this crash is due to, but perhaps someone has had a similiar problem? It causes WC3 to go to a Fatal Error message, saying that there is a "memory allocation" error. It says something about memory that "can't be read" Sometimes, it only crashes one person. Other times, it cashes almost everyone. This specific crash doesn't kick in at a specific time either. Sometimes its at the load of the map, else its random during play time. Has anyone ever encountered this bug before? Also, does anyone know any other good forums I can post this problem? |

Guest | how big is your map and wat triggers have you got under map initialization? (or if you dont then dont worry about that one). what specs of your comp? do you run anything in background when you play warcraft3? did you "test" all the files you uploaded all these things we need to know so we can help you it might also be because you have a virus on your comp, things like that is usually virus. one more, your running too many applications there all the ideas i can think of |

This really helps: My map? Its 2.4 megs as the original. around 1.8M after compilation. My comp specs are good: 37 gigs, 16 of it free P4 1.9 GHz 512 MB of RAM Though, it can't be my computer because other people crash as well... i usually run winamp, world editor, and AIM, but then again, other people crash as well. It also crashes if i run it regularly. test? seeing as how all the icons and images that are uploaded were created by me, yes, i did test them. and yes, they all work. again, the crash is random, so some games it wont crash at all. a virus on my comp? will that affect other people crashing as well? i certaintly will check. thank you for your assistance |

Well, it isn't any virus. I've scanned my computer for viruses, spyware, and more. All of them showed up to be clean. ![]() |

Do you have custom music imported in your map? Mp3's? Wav's? |

no, just a custom load screen, and custom BLP's ranging from skins to icons |

it seems to crash earlier with more people |

after further testing, it seems to be more unstable and have a higher tendency for crashing if you have a lot of things happen: ie. 4 heroes dying within 5 seconds of eachother. the more that happens, the higher chance of it crashing. we've played around a lot, and it seems that in games with only 2 or 3 people, it doesn't crash very often (still crashes), yet in a full map (12 players), it will almost always crash is this due to triggers? or is it some of my imported icons? either of the case, this crashing is really costing me people who wish to try the map again. i will try to get a host and allow you guys to download it. |

No one like gay Naruto lovers either. Or people who have ugly men in their avatar, I suggest you start your map from scratch. |

Check the tutorials section. I remember there was some tutorial about memory leaks and how to fix them. And yes, you actually triple posted.. and I can't see how it could have been an accident. He's the official n00bslayer, prepare to face your maker ;) EDIT: Here's the link to the tutorial by the way. |
