I dont get why so many people keep posting in threads OR making new threads about when this site will die, it makes no sense to me why these people even visit the site if they are so keen on it dying.

I apoligize if someones already made a thread based around this but I thought its time I had my say, im not as active as I use to be back in the day but its still a good forum to visit and when I look around I always see a few posts with something in them along the lines of "When will this forum actually die?"

Its pointless to even discuss that topic if the creators of the posts STILL visit the site after they constantly go on about it dying, FFS STFU and leave if you really would like this forums to die, what are you people going to do when it actually dies? I know i'll move on but im sure these others would be thinking "OMG.. it actually died! what now?"

I had nothing better to do. And it WILL die sometime, as almost every other. If it's still alive (even barely) it saves me effort to actually find some new forum. And there are still some forums worth posting on, after all.

Pointless - yes, but still better than discussing if apples are red. And I will constantly whine about it if I see that this forum is getting less alive by crap like stockmarket. And if i wanted this to die i wouldn't even post here - why increase number of active members? When it dies i'll probably find new forum or just keep posting on that 2 others i visit. Simple. And if it dies as wc3c forum i'm pretty sure it will reincarnate as stockmarket board.

I was ate a yellow apple, seriously.

It is worthless, but the defense X person would use is that Whining about worthless threads is even more worthless.

Let's give people free speech to an extent, As long as there are threads about the site dying the site will not die...

It is lamers corner anyways

Now that would be funny as hell to see, but the stockmarket in my oppinion was something to attract more attention, I hardly used it.

Yeah your right it probably is, but this I guess gives me something to do while I wait for the forums to come fully back-up XD

if wc3 ever gets very unpopular, site could be converted into something else, there is a lot of potential i say
My thoughts too.

Ah, you fight the inevitable.

Some 10 years ago, I released a whole series of WAD files for the original Doom. Deathmatch maps, sprite modes, exe mods, and a whole other vierty of things - like changing the pink demons into black gargoyles that flew. Doom was mighty popular back in that time. Of course, we played over BBS systems that linked us together. We also played text games like Barren Realms Elite and Trade wars 2002.

Now, doom is dead. I dont even have those files anymore. It DIED. I havn't heard a word of Trade Wars in years. The BBS's went down.

Communities die. Games die out. And in the end, you and I too will both die.

Some sites have switched to WOW, like worldofwar.net. But you can't make the mods like warcraft 3. Therefore, its not as rewarding. And people will stay around. Those most famous and popular will be forgotten forever - and there work too. (Just like my rep for AOE on the zone)

Perhaps blizzard WILL release a War 4. And all our communities will be revitalized with an amazing new game, and we'll get a few more years out of it. But I doubt it. WOW is there real money maker, and priority. It scrapped W4 and D3.

Those too poor to buy the latest games will hang around. Like the starcraft users. But the fate is already determined. Its a question of when.

Hey Yamaha, looks like you got teh deathangst! Here's something for you, the more pessimistic you are, the sooner you die. Yay!
:P
Now for changing doom demons into hexen gragoyles, oh wow, big deal. And the original doom is still mighty popular for modding and suchlike, go google it. It didn't die. Hah.
Oh yes, WoW sucks ok? We don't need to discuss such pieces of gaming crap in here because, well, crap is crap, there's not much more to say about it. Flush it down already.

you dont have to look to blizzard for the next good modable game. this community will die eventualy. even if blizz end up releaseing wacraft 10, someone, someday will find a reason to remove this sites hosting. besides, blizz are far too self satisfied after finding out how much money they can make from mmorpgs. so look for a development teamthat still care about the quality of the games they make. DoF looks set to have an editor far superior to wc3. AOE3 will probably have much better gamneplay, and rise of legends looks as though it will be quite modable if it comes with an editor (although no word on the editor yet)

so this community dies. big deal. everyone who still likes modding games will find other games to mod, and everyone else will probably get on with real life. communities only exist when enough people care. when evenryone looses intrest in wc3, this site will die. but few will be left to give a shit.

as for those who remain here. we dont neciceraly do so because were too poor to aford new games. ive bought a lot of RTS's. BFME, C&C generals, rise of nations ect. and all of them have pathetic editors. thats why i keep on useing WE

Exactly just that. Its just the way things work and the way things are. Same as any other games.

Interesting the other guy found a way to interperate my post into something he can flame. Pretty rediculous argument to claim doom is alive and well. Being an adult, I won't participate in that. Another reason people don't come around as much.

Bwahahaha. Really if you were anywhere near mature you wouldn't be hanging around on a gaming forum. Silly how people keep saying things like this all the time. If you look around out your front door you'll find plenty of so called adults on the age of 40 who still curse at each other in "debates". No really, let's just make that "Being a boring wannabe-snob, I won't participate in that, but mostly because I have nothing to counter the flame with."
