Orb of Spells chance?

What's the deal with the orb of spells ability? I have it on 45% chance to cast and it works more like 20%, and I tested it a number of times.

Same goes for other abilities, it seems like the orb of spells real % is alot less then what it should be.

Did anyone else notice this?
What can I do about it?

BTW, te cooldown of the spell to cast IS considered

I made some tests and discovered the problem.

The orb takes effect only when it acquires targets from a direct attack command (attack specific unit) or by attack-move command.

If the target is acquired by any other way the orb won't affect it.

Example:
I order a unit with an orb effect (let's say 80%) to attack a specific unit from a group of 3, when it attacks it the orb works 80% of the time (or whatever the % is), however when the target dies and the unit starts attacking another nearby enemy wihtout me telling him the orb never works (tested it even with 100%, it never works).

Same things happens if my unit is attacked by enemies and is currently under the 'stop' command, the orb effect never fires, even with 100%.

The % is calculated only when the unit is ordered to attack a specific unit (then the orb will work only on that unit) or when the unit attacks unit while preforming an attack-move action.


Someone at blizzard should fix this.

I am happy for the damage event. It makes passive abilities so much easier. Especially since orb attacks don't stack anyway, which is a very large problem,

Isn't the 'takes damage' event works only on specific units and not on generic units?

Hey Lord Vexorian, i'm interested in your created orbs, i'm not sure about the forums right now... but do you have a link to an "orb template" kind of map file like you have for your chains and other spell caster systems? it'd be great if you could supply me a link. Thanks in advance... Not sure where to search in the forums at the moment.

It does, so how I get around that is by adding the specific event to one trigger for each unit when it comes into play. That trigger then will run the rest of them. I think it was Vex that I got the idea from.
