Opacity isn't working for 5.0

Hey, I was wondering how I would go about changing the opacity of my object in the scene. Right clicking going to properties and changing the opacity value that way isn't working at all (with a material). How do I get this to work?

If you want to make the model transparent, all you have to do is make the material Additive, in the material editor. If you have some experience with max, you know how to do that.

nah, 3dsmax won't render well ur opacity exept if u are using a 3dsmax own material or a brazil material. try guiding by previewer.

For wc3 materials got to material editor, make sure your material is a Warcraft III one, then change the opacity value from 100 to something less which means more transparent. Note that Filter mode has to be either additive or full alpha for gradual opacity adjustment to work. You can also change opacity using a visibility track in the dope sheet editor.

ya, but wc3 doesn't support multicontrollers in a single transform like in max 8 or bipeds, so if he is changing visibility with dope sheet, he can't make that mesh totally invisible at a death or decay anim.

Yes he can. I've done it and I know it works, as long as you use either full alpha or additive materials, doesn't need more explaining than that. As for the visibility not showing in max, that may be because of what driver you are using change to opengl from direct3d or to direct3d to opengl and see if you see more then.

i said for visibility anims, not for opacity, so what i really mean is that if he modified visibility so it be semitransparent he would not be able to make it total transparent, because wc3 is really messy with linear-bezier-tcb controllers in what refers visibility.
