Pathing Maps

Below is an image, it is what I want the Pathing Map to be for a model I have. I'm sure this wont work, size and most likely other reasons.

What exactly do I need to do to this image to make it the Pathing Map of a model in my game? What other specifications are there for Pathings Maps other than .TGA and the Colors?

Just so you know each 1x1 pixel (or was it 2x2?) Is one square big as an barrel. So I dont think you can make that detailed pathings without making them huge.

Thats what I thought. Hense why I asked.

Any idea on how I could take this size and shrink it to the right size without having to draw each and every square? (Just shrinking it would be a little inaccurate I would think.

Also, is there a way to render a Pathing Map maybe? Perhaps with 3dsMax?

Well Ive tried to make some pathing maps and It worked pretty good.
I just imported the ones existing, converted to .tga, Opened in Photoshop,learned how they worked, and made my one.

Yes, making one from scratch is very easy. The issue is with a model this detailed the map will need to be very large and very detailed. Drawing pixel by pixel would require a lot of time and accuracy.

Of course. However its a little trickey drawing a 256x256 image pixel by pixel . I'm going to try placing the model in-game and giving it 50% visability, then display the grid in the WE. That way I can just fill in anything that is on the grid and make everything else Pink.

Well you said you wanted to use the image you posted?
Why not just make it smaller/bigger?

The issue is that when you do that, the pixel count wont be right. So I remade the image using the Grid from the WE and then shrunk it to 4 pixels per grid space. The issue is the image has a length of 560. I doubt that will work in game...

Dont mind the double post, just a bump.

Okay so, after a lot of time and effort, I got it perfect. It is shown below. The issue now is that the TGA comes out as 560k. Thats a little big, is it possible to lower that file size?

Convert it into an .blp
That help atleast some.

Pathing Maps are only TGA format.

Are you sure? I think I made mine in blp, not sure though
