Ever played Front Mission? You control a team of Mechs which do battle with enemies. Each mech has 5 parts: 2 arms, legs, body, and pilot. They also have weapons in each hand, and the possibility of shoulder weapons like missle launchers. The mechs have interchangable parts that can be bought at the store. Weapons like Machine gun deal many hits for small damage to random parts. Weapons like Shotgun deal about the same damage to all parts. Rifle deals a lot of damage to 1 part(random). Pilot's don't get hurt except by certain special combo moves. if the body dies, the mech is destroyed, if the pilot dies, you can eject out of your mech and enter the enemy mech. If someone wanted to model arms and legs that could be used as attached special effect modles(so when they get blown up, they go away, leaving wires/sparks etc). Items would be the obvious thing to keep track of parts HP, and placing the modles on. Anyway, if anyone is interested in heading the project, I have created a Turn Based Stratagy- Move system, in which you can move squares(or hexes if you prefer, but I would have to make a few modifications) depending on a single variable, making it extreamly easy to use. The system would change depending on what you wanted to do with it, and there is still one bug to work out(with distance greater than 4 it becomes noticable. Basically for somereason, if you have an enemy infront of you, the squares will not go behind him if you have enough move.) I just thought it would be a cool map. But I'm not going to lead because I've got stuff to do, and other maps I'm working on. EDIT: I fixed all the bugs in my movement system. |

Yes, I've played Front Mission, although it seems no one has EVER heard of it... Even though I've played it, I do bad, so I stopped trying. I don't want to help, but I just wanted to say that I hope that this project doesn't go in the trash, like a lot of good ones have. I hope you release it in the future. |

It would be a cool game too, but no one seems to be volenteering... I have all the ideas for triggering, and like I said, I made a grid-based movement system. But I'm no modeler and balancing isn't my thing either. If it doesn't get a foot off the ground on Wc3, maybe on Starcraft 2? Anyone care to volenteer to modle and make the game with me? I think maybe it's just that these forums are getting less and less frequented due to poor maitanance after the down time. |
