Ok so I skinned the Illidan(evil) model version (the one with wings) and I put it into the editor. pathing from the campaign unit, something like units/nightelf/illidanevil/illidanevil.blp also put that at the imported file. it worked fine the first time I opened the map! but the second time, with same pathing and stuff its the regular illidanevil again! how can this be?? or must I use another pathing?? |

Very odd..Are you sure the skin just does not work in the WE? Does it work in-game? |

I'm sure it does not work in WE and it does not work ingame either :( maybe I use wrong path? or maybe, I use the original campaign illidanEvil maybe I should make a custum unit and put it there, dunno if WE auto resets campaign skins and models to normal or something?? |

No it should work fine. Make sure the path is exactly correct and the skin is in the correct format/color depth. |

it all is... I think I've had this problem with the illidanevil skin before :( why oh why doesn't it work!? |

Try to re-import. If you changed the skin you need to re-import aswell. If you changed it, you should try to compress it different if it doesn't work. It could also be that the skin is just screwed up. This happens sometimes, even if it worked before it suddenly doesn't work any more and there is nothing that you can do. Try to copy and paste the skin over the original Evil Illidan and import. |

Try Textures\Illidan.blp |

From what I can remember, the skin isn't called Illidan.blp or something like that, I think it was Textures\HeroDemonHunter.blp |

Try converting it with another tool to .blp |

If all problem persists, export the model, convert it to and .mdl, open it in notepad, change the pathing for the skin to something like illidan2.blp instead or whatever this file may be called. convert it back to .mdx. then import the model and skin and use the same pathing texture in the model for the skin. E.X. pathing says 'nightelf/heroes/illidanevil.blp' (note this is made up on the spot i can't remember what it actually is) Change it so it should say something like 'nightelf/heroes/illidanevil2.blp' When importing, dont change pathing for model. but, pathing for skin should be 'nightelf/heroes/illidanevil2.blp' |

from your posts, i really cant make out the problem. what exactly happoned? did a path your previously entered in the import editor suddenly change? is the path fine but did your skin act strange after a second test? does your skin show up as just a bunch of fleating teamcolor? you need to pinpoint the exact problem. sometimes, the import editor just goes weird. i once had to reimport all my skins becouse the import editor had somehow replaced all the skins i imported with completely diffrent ones from my harddrive that had the same path. wc3 works in mysterious ways... |

Yeah you said it. And yeah, did you check and make sure the file itself hadnt changed? |
