Hah, you have never dealt with Zip files before? Okay goto www.download.com Search for WinRAR Download WinRAR (It is free) Right click the .zip file you downloaded from wc3sear.ch Select 'Extract to <Zip file name here>' Now open your map in the WE Select the 'Import' option from the top right of the main view Select 'Import file..' Goto that folder that you unzipped, and import the MDX and any BLPs Double click each BLP file and rename thier path from wc3imported <Filename>.blp to <Path inside the original folder>\<Filename>.BLP Open the 'Object Editor' and choose the 'Model' field in the unit you want to change Choose 'Imported' and select the MDX from the dropdown box. Save your map, close the WE Reopen the WE and your map. Congrats, you now have the imported model Side noes: You can use WinZIP or the built in unzip program with WinXP instead of WinRAR You can test your map before saving/closing the WE, however in the WE the model will only appear as a checkered box. |

WinXP lets you view the files in the Zip folder like any other folder; what you have just done is unzipped those files so that they can be used elsewhere. Now what you need to do is import them into your map, like I said. Quote:

I do not understand. Take screenshots with the 'PrintScrn' key on your keyboard and then post them at www.imageshack.us and give me the link. |

when i right click in the import manager there are two things that say import files, one right above the other. but i think one is if you had a flop and wanted to transfer from it to the comp. i think. and i do need every one of the unit files in the manager right? |

what do i do about a unit that will show its self in the editor but in testing it in a map all you see is the shadow, or what do i do about it only being shown as a big green box? do i have to edit some fiel to make it work or would i just have to delete it? |

Ugh..You really should look for a tutorial on how to work the Import Manager.. Look, click 'Import File' not 'Import Files' then choose each skin/model individually. Then double click the /BLP file types ONLY and check the box next to 'Use custom path.' Now remove 'wc3imported' from the Pathname and change it to the pathname of the skin INSIDE the folder you Unzipped. Side note: Don't double post, nasty thing to do. Use the edit button. |
