I've been trying to cut some .wav sound files down on size. I'm using nero's Lame Pack mp3 encoder to make them mp3, but when I import them and try to use as a sound it tells me that the file format is not recognized. I tried matching bitrate with some others that work in the map ( 112 ) and still nothing. |

Use Nero's 'Nero Wave Editor' instead. It easy exports from WAV to MP3 with a good compresion. Just download/buy Nero somewhere. (KaZaA; DC++;Bit Torent) |

I used wave editor, but it uses the same encoder "lame or mp3pro". Still having same problem. Is there a certain bitrate I need to do them at? I've also tried encoding in mono and stereo. --edit As it turns out, it is just one file that I am trying to convert for some reason. I tried a few others and they are ok. The weird thing is, that it is a sound I already was using in map as .wav and exported it to convert to mp3 and then imported it back in. All the other ones will work though. |

Then I suggest downloadning the .wav from an outside source other than exporting. The WE may have compressed the .wav in some way, which may have corrupted it. |

I got the same problem with an outside .mp3 file. The weird thing is that outside of WE, it works... It might be because I tried to make the file smaller using a sound editer program, but I will test with the original file tomorrow. Hope someone got a solution for this :P -Soultaker |

The mp3 likely uses a compression meahod War3 does not support. Either a) convert the mp3 to mp3 with somthing such as Nero Wave Editor or post the mp3 here and I will do it for you. |
