Hail, # Full Question: Its possible to add new spells to the SpellBook item ability ? I will begin the creation of my new custom map. But before, i need to know somethings... I will try to make the spell system closer to the D&D system. So i need a way to add new spells to the spellbook ( item ). # Fast to the point: How i can add new spells to the SpellBook item ability ? |

you cannot. However you can add all abilities that are possible in the spellbook and then disable each spell for the player that doesnt have them and reenable them when they should have the spell. Doesnt really work like adding spells.. seeing u're limited to 11 spells and they will have their own place... but its the only way (besides making ALOT of different spellbooks :)) |

Actually, vexorian discovered a way to add abilities to spellbook, I couldn't find the thread about it, but I remember him accomplishing it by making a spellbook for every addable ability and put that ability in it, then he added the spellbook to the unit and disabled it or something, can't remember exactly what he did, but the effect was that the ability "jumped" from it's own spellbook to the unit's main spellbook. |

Thanks Veorian, its solved 2 problems at same time... In true, i was searching a way to add spells to the Spell Book Item, not the the Spell Book Ability in self ( since u cannot change the item skills ). But in another hand, its solved an ability space inssue of my map. Well, i had a problem trying to add levelable abilities to a hero. Since my game have a class evolution tree, i need to keep the abilities of the old class to the new one. So with this "glitch" i will be able to do that in smoother way. Actually, my only problem now is balance the things, coz if the hero take 3 classes, he will have about 12 skills... It can unbalance the game a little much. But its not a script problem :) |
