So my problem is that I can't import any skins to any map. I just can't do it. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I think its the "custom path"..
I have read the tuts, no help.

Tim.
I seriously need to write a simple FAQ thread for this kinda junk.

Okay a custom path is the location of a texture that a model loads for a specific geoset (Object) of the model. There are many ways to locate the correct path for a texture.

1) If the model is already in War3 and you are just replacing the original texture, open the War3 Viewer (You can get it form http://www.wc3sear.ch ) locate the model whos texture you want to replace, then goto the top title bar and choose 'Current File --> Show used texture names...' You will see the custom path foor the textures used by the model.

2) If you are using a custom model that is not from the War3 MPQ, you need to download the MDX-->MDL converter from http://www.wc3sear.ch amd convert the model (MDX) to MDL. Now open the MDL and look a few lines down for 'Textures' and you will see paths for the different .BLP textures. Locate the path for the texture you wish to import.

Now that you know the path, open War3, goto the Import manager, and import your texture. Double click on the texture (wc3imported/texture.blp for example) and check the box 'use custom path.' Now the box above will allow you to edit the path. Change the path from whatever it is (wc3imported/texture.blp in our example) to whatever the path is that you found. Thats all there is to it.
