Where does Game Cache save the information? I want to be able to access Game Cache information from games that I'm not in(so I can make a ladder system ^^), so does it save it over BNet, their computer, my computer, or am I just completely off target? =O, thanks for the help. Edit: From the tuts I've read, it looks like I'll be able to access it, but I'd have to run the map every time so it will tell me. But I'm still not completely sure...most of the tuts don't actually explain how game cache works..they just give you some save/load code to copy and paste into your map =P. |

Game Cache can not be saved on b.net sorry. Meaning you can only use it from one map to another in single player but not b.net. |

You can use it over Bnet. I know many RPG's use it so you can save your character and then load him from a different game. |

No that is incorrect. Maps that allow you to load from one game to the next over Battle.net use a Save/Load system. This is very different from GameCache. |

Ohh, I see ^^. Then, back to my original question, can I get to information from games that I wasn't in using a save/load system? Edit: Ok, just realized I've been being kinda stupid =P. I've found the answer, and if I had just thought about it I don't think I would have needed to spend all this time on it ^^. |

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but um, what was the answer? |

Look at this, a tutorial about save/load code systems: http://www.wc3campaigns.net/showthread.php?t=78969 |

I wanted an answer that wasnt the save load thing. Why won't Blizzard just give us the ability to load game caches over the net? Do they think it will open up too many avenues for hacking? |

They will have different contents on different computers, so it would most likely cause desyncs if it worked. |

There are many other usages that don't require synchronization. Shame on Blizzard :P |

ofcourse if blizzard implimented multiplayer gamecache then it will be possible to access a specific player gamecache. i guess blizzard is just lazy, people want alot of things and blizzard cant get them all in. |

let any map mapper actually able to access the hard disk of any guy that falls and plays his map, that's a great idea |

As I already suggested, "Do they think it will open up too many avenues for hacking" which was more of a statement than a question. |

Well couldnt they save all the game caches on the battle.net or something? Well that would take some space.. |

Maybe restrict what can be saved and where. I see nothing wrong with that as long as they don't leave room for custom data. |
