My post from wc3sear.ch (http://www.wc3sear.ch/viewtopic.php?t=16374) I released a beta map with a different gameplay system, called Sea Hunter 2. Don't be fooled by its file size. Like many ******* did and said this map has nothing and left without even playing. How it works: -Every player gets their own ship, with a starting weapon of torpedoes. Like those 2d shooters, there are powerups to make your ship freakishly powerful. -The objective is to destroy the enemy's harbor. -All projectiles only damage upon impact. That means you can get hurt by crossing the path of a projectile;there is no definite target. -There are 3 different kinds of projectiles(missile, bulltet and phaser), each with their own property. For example, missiles and bullets blow up on impact, but phasers pierce through targets and could continue hitting other units. -Special items can change your weapon's effectiveness, or add more strategy to the game. Ex: Force fields can destroy bullets and missiles, but phasers may penetrate through them. there are more items but I don't want to spoil the surprise. -There are also wave of units every something minutes to add more action. Other plans are being made on how the waves come out. Download old version of the map here: http://maps.worldofwar.net/maps.php?id=9341 or http://www.wc3sear.ch/index.php?p=Ma...a8535671f922f5 The newest release is Sea Hunter 2 beta 4e, which can be downloaded from these places: http://maps.worldofwar.net/maps.php?id=9406 http://www.wc3sear.ch/index.php?p=Maps&ID=7224&sid= ![]() ![]() Please comment/ suggest. I'll add more screenshots later. |

Looks very interesting, I'll try it out soon. The projectiles sound good, and the different types. |

I played this several times, it has potential but needs more kinds of projectiles etc and stuff to do in the map. What I dont know but theres just too little to do... Besides from that its ok fun... |

I really like the small filesize thats a good thing, and yes you really need to add a good looking minimap picture because on the preview it looks so bold and empty and many people on bent leaves when they see that... :/ |

Are you guys downloading the new one or the old one? Make sure you see this picture. ![]() |

Ah sorry I had forgotten it, still that is a bit boring if I may say so... It looks like the poster for a movie or something :P For me a good minimap image shows some "action" or something like that. Maybe a screenshot from the map showing how it looks like and then put some big flashy text over that looks cool :P |

But the mini map looks more professional that way. ![]() So what do you other guys think, is it not appealing enough? Want to make one? |

Played old and new version, here is what you did right and wrong in the new version :) -More powerups and items was good move, by more i mean they come more -I didnt like the circle capture thingie because it could only be done by ally ships, because there is no chance to get any circles after the enemy team captures 3/4 or 4/4 (or was there 5 circles? w/e) -I think the circle capture should be done by player ships, not just by touching them, but holding your position near the circle, like max 300 range from it for like 15 sec to get control of it -the penguing bomb seemed bit lame, but same time the game cant survive without it, ah well, just leave it as it is :) -the abilities could have more levels than just one Your going the right way with the map, keep up the good work. And the minimap pic definately needs improvement, when i've hosted the map many people ask: "134775H1P555?!?!" (Battleships :)). I think the minimap pic needs to tell bit more about the map. |

Well, there are a number of problems with the map right now. 1. Some people complain about the circle capturing part, so I'm not sure if I can improve it or not. 2. There isn't that many different things to do in this game other than shoot everyone and their bases. I think I need a little more stuff in it. Maybe implementing buildings or something. 3. Some say the mini map doesn't show what the game is about, so I need a new one. 4. There isn't much customization with the ships. Maybe I need more boats and spells. What I really need is more opinions. This game is about finished, but it seems a lot is still missing. |

i can make you a mimimap and help you with ideas |

That would be good. It has to show that it isn't a battleship map. Even just a picture without the title would suffice. As for ideas, after you have played the map enough, feel free to post whatever suggestions you have here. |
