Editing and Adding New Skills for RoC

Hi, I just bought this game last week and now I am trying to Edit my own map. I can't seem to edit the abilities. I saw some people edited their maps that have spells and abilities customized in RoC. I was wondering how I would edit mine?

Customizing abilities in RoC is tedious work, it can't be done within the editor, people used to do it by manually editing some data files. My suggestion is, get the expansion for the game, The Frozen Throne. The editor got some kickass improovements with it, including the Object Editor that allows you to modify many aspects of units, items, abilities, buffs, doodads... Also make sure you get the most recent patch, as the editor has been improoved with them as well.

Oh man, that stinks...I guess I'll have to learn how to edit the data. How would I edit the data?

Seriously, buy TFT, it's like 10 bucks in the states (or some such tomfoolery, gawd i hate living in New Zealand sometimes, 50 USD for RoC, HA!).

Let's put it this way, to make 5 custom hero abilties (data, tooltips, buffs etc) will take about an hour, at least, in RoC and involve numerous spreadsheets and text documents. I know, i used to do it.

The same task in TFT can be done in about 10-15 minutes.

Stupid worthless US currency.
I've heard of americans coming to England with about $300, and being really upset when they're almost totally out of money in three days...

You'll be surprised on how much we spend, even if that $300 goes down the drain, we still gots others to pay other than our own personal expenses. And those expenses are worth more than any other expenses.

But seriously, how would I edit the data?

Search this forum, Wc3c has threads dating back to RoC.

If you can't find a helpful one i *may* do the search for you. May.
