Kadogo Project

My graphic novel project on a child soldier in the Congo is called Kadogo which means: Child Soldier in congolese dialect swahili. I don't feel like going deep into the plots and stuff yet. So this is my first finished page of my big project. I'm sorry that the text is in french but please indulge.

For french-speaking folks, if you find any typos in the dialogue please mention. Also if you have suggestions as for how to improve the text or style of dialogue.

For the rest, you can comment on the lineart (I know my cases are aweful.) and the quick greyscale shading. I intend to keep the colors to that for its easy for me to do them but tell me if black and white only is better and if you have any ideas to improving the comic esthetics you are very welcome to share them.

The girl is one of the main characters, I decided to implement a female lead in the story like many mangakas because drawing the pages can become boring so drawing a lil sexy character will ease the pain. Her name is Sofie and not Sophie, the orthograph is belgium (I think).

Sofie is how we spell Sophie in holland and belgium yes, the others are just grazy.

hot stuff candy, but the glasses of the girl in the third frame (the one that goes SWOOSH) is a bit strange... it looks like it's bended or smashed into her cheecks, put on some glasses and look in the mirror or take a physics class, becouse it really needs fixing, its the only mayor issue that really bugs me.

io hope you find the patience to finish this... something set in congo should be interesting.

What erwt means is that you shouldnt see the pane of the glasses at a profile view. But instead a profile view of the glasses.
You have it angled like 3/4th, which is very uncomfortable.

ha graphic novels are so cool!. We should have like a group together and create a online comic. to bad the old community comic activity died out.

As for the page. I think its awesome. I like panels one two and five. those panels look really professional...seriously.
Every thing is easy to follow,crystal clear and its fun. I can tell whats going just by looking at the images.

erwt & Shadow - I did that in all of the pages and I'm at 15... lol I knew it was wrong but I thought it was purrty. I agree that the conflict in the Congo is interesting, the problem I find now is that I censored too much of my storyline, I have to include more blood, horror and stuff to really show what I want to say. And I think I'll make fast translated page for each one I finish.

kimchi - Yea... I'd like to work on one with the community but its hard to keep it going and plus I gotta really finish this one since if I don't its my international study diploma that goes to hell! Since this is a school project in essence.
