Hunted Campaign, hopeful for revival

Well, the original died for the same reason many campaigns die. We all did work, but we just pittered out after the initial "YA, WE ARE GONNA DO IT!" mentality. Well, I am hoping to revive it, though on a lesser scale than before. Also, since it has been 1-2 years since the idea was abandoned, the concept and storyline have changed drastically, though it still retains what makes it Hunted.

Basic idea was 3 heroes leave/escape a military academy.

-Tonferro, a rage filled youth expected to live up to his father's legacy as the greatest knight to have ever graduated from the academy. He hates living in the shadow of his father.
-Addessia (original name forgotten, sorry), a former thief forced into the academy to become a scout. She was caught finally when she snipped the wrong person's purse strings.
-Chelsie (yet another name i forgot), a promising young mage who was allowed into the academy even though she was a slave formerly. She is the youngest person to have ever completed initiation.

Tonferro leaves the academy because he never really wanted to be a great knight. He wanted to pursue his passion, not his father's. Addessia leaves because she was forced into this. Chelsie leaves because of her infatuation with Tonferro, and since he was leaving she went with him.

First "chapter" would simply be a character select and a short cinematic in which you watch your character escape the academy. Each would be different, no "generic character walks through gate" stuff. As easy as it is to just change the character, what I liked about the storyline originally was that you had 3 connected storylines. Anyway, you watch them escape, you watch them make it to a town, you watch them get on a boat(ton and chel) or enter the forest(add), and then the fun starts.

You follow 1 of 3 storylines that leads to 3 seperate endings from this point on. 1 for each character. Each storyline has the typical hack and slash rpg style that wc3 rpgs tend to end up with, but at the same time it also includes what I can only describe as "minigames" in which you do things like hit switches, cast "encounter spells" which means spells available only for that encounter, fire heavy weapons, and generally do something more interesting than hit the potion button as necessary.

This project, when brought down to earth a little bit, should be very simple. Though I'm sure it's considered tacky or whatever, using models already in the game would not be a problem, and the maps would not have to be extremely big. This is good, since there would likely be between 15-20 maps. 1 worldmap(biggest map), 4 towns, 1 island, 3 caverns, 1 icey mountain, 2 plains, atleast 1 forest, and whatever else it is that ends up in the story.

My part in all of this? Mostly story and maps, and little bits of whatever else has to be done. If I can get even one other person this should be possible. Given enough time I'm sure I could do it alone. But by the time I got around to finishing everything it would be dec 25, 2010.

If you want to know more, if you want to join, or if you want to call me an idiot, feel free to do it in this thread or via PM. I don't care how much experience in wc3 editing you have, if you can use WE I can atleast give you a shot.

Doesn't sound bad.. but it's all about the execution I guess.

Yes, that is what this comes down to... I am just gonna try to get out something fun for people to dink around with (small scripted fight) and see if they like it. Then I might be able to put something together.

I'm here. Good to see you Electro. The only thing I remember getting truly done in hunted was the terrain.
Fulling triggering, jassing and creating 15-20 maps would require herculean dedication, which as of now- is pretty much non-existant.
I'm pretty rusty with jass, but I'm willing to get back on my feet.

Yea, it is stupid to even go with so many maps. 10 may even be a few too many. Either way, still doing the demo map to try to show some basics, and so far so good. Basics of the demo will be this:

-How the heroes work
-How I plan to do most of the "major" battles (boss battles)
-Shit terrain cuz I stopped being any good at this atleast a year ago :P

Anyway, hopefully it will be enough to rekindle the former flame of this project. Though, as I said before, a LOT of the storyline will have changed, it just has the same concept. And, as far as how long the demo will take? Well, I have my first real full day off from work tomorrow, so I plan to just finish it up since most of the basic stuff is already done. So I'm hoping monday or tuesday...

On a different note, nice model wh. Haven't seen that thing in forever, or maybe never at all. She looks plenty mad.
