same as the archmage picture.

it needs a more copnsistant lightsource on this one, and use some smaller brushes. the lazy bigass-softbrush just looks... weak and fake.

The problem isnt with the big brushes, the problem lies with your knowledge of light and coloring style itself. You first find photoshop... I know you think its so tempting. But avoid dodge and burn like the plague. Best idea is also to work with a lightly toned background, something that doesnt distort the colors as much as black or white does. The colors are already far too saturated, but with the contrast from the darker tones it merely brings it out further and sticks out like a sore thumb.

...Should I say that I didn't knew dodge or burn when I painted this one? And I love black backgrounds... well, anyways. I think I'm gonna paint this again.
