Speeding up WE - or alternatives

I have a problem

I am now confiend to a really slow computer and WE's inefficiencies are really making development impossible.

So i am looking for a tutorial on how to speed WE up, or some third-party editor, fully 1.20-compatible.

Can anyone help me on that?

Disable brushlist in the under Window --> brushlist, speeds WE up a lot and the brushlist is completely unneeded anyway.
