I have downloaded a skin that is supposed to apply over the default warcraft watcher model (watcher.mdl) and replace the default watcher skin. So what I did was I created a new custom unit based off the sentry (which uses the watcher model) which resides at this path units\creeps\watcher\watcher.mdl. So I import the skin using the import tool and change the path to units/creeps/watcher/watcher.blp. I restart the world editor and place the unit on the map and it remains unchanged. Am I doing something wrong here I'm only trying to replace the skin on a regular warcraft model. Is there some sort of a special path the skins need to use since the ones I want to replace are default with the game? |

Did you test the model in-game? |

Wow don't I feel like an idiot it appears in game .Well thats a first and to think I had it right for hours. Is this normal behavior when replacing default skins? Just curious. Its usually against my nature to test things that don't work right since I assume what you see in WorldEdit is what you get in game unless its a trigger of course then I have to preview the map to test them. Thanks For The Help |

You need to place the unit on the map somewhere before saving, otherwise the texture is not loaded and you will continue to see the missing-model box. |
