Magic the Gathering - AoS Map

A few months back I started on a MTG - Aos map, but I started off way to big, the map was massive and would simply take to long.

Im now picking up where I started and starting off real small and simple, its gonna be a 3 way AOS style map 3v3v3.
To begin with there will just be 1 path from each Base connecting up and im going for 3-5 fully custom heroes per team.
No more, for now.

So the way im gonig to do the map, is in this order
- Heroes
- Items
- Terrain
- A few skins (already downloaded)

Im mainly seeking help on custom spells, I can do quite alot myself and I have the help of my brother whos quite a good with triggers.

There are a few spells I'd really like to do but are beyond my capacity. So if anyone would like to help reply/pm or
Email/Msn - [email protected]

thank you

you uhh...didnt say what this map has to do with MTG. i think perhaps you should use an original background/setting, unless you are prepared to really expend the effort to make the map immersive in the MTG plot universe.

Perhaps I should give more details

3v3v3
White/Green v Black/Red v Blue/Artifact

All heroes/units/spells/items will be largely based on the Magic Game. It will however be mainly a AoS map.
Im starting off with black and working on the following 5 heroes :-

Sorceress Queen
Royal Assasin
Undead Warchief
Gradnmother Sengir
Baron Sengir

so your just pulling names from MTG, not any MTG elements or storylines or anything? You should read some of the novels, they provide a great deal of backstory and such and would definatly give you more material to work with.

I have read every novel, all the books are on my bookshelf

I've played the game for years, so I have a very big knowledge of the game and its mechanics.
If I made an rpg then perhaps I would integrate alot of the storyline etc. But an AoS map is more about gameplay.

There are quite alot of elements im using, such as the colours and there specialities. The heroes spells will fit the colour they are from.

Sorceress Queen will obviously have 1 or 2 custom Hex abilities and a few black spells.
Undead Warchief will have some custom auras and abailities to boost friendly zombies and undead units.

If you're a magic fan and see my heroes you'll pickup on the similarities. Once I've finished a few Black heroes (7 custom spells each), I'll post em for review.

Do you meant he one by Papacha-Sama

I've played that map a few times, it wasnt bad but its over a year old and hasnt been updated. I guess the guy lost interest.

Didnt have many custom spells/items, quite a basic map overall. Your standard DOTA is better.

I play MT:G regularly, up-to-date and have several thousand cards - so if you need any ideas...

I'm very rusty when it comes to Magic cards, but I'd be happy to help bring spell ideas into actual in-game spells. You can catch me on MSN (fireflash at simple-online dot net).

I don't play MTG, but I do know what it is, since I see my friends play it.

Are you going to implement the mana pool?

Also, be sure to create a Wc3Wiki article for your map! i've started one out here: http://wc3wiki.game-advance.net/wiki/MTG-AoS
and you should edit it and add your own information to it.

For example, a map i'm creating has the following Wc3Wiki article: http://wc3wiki.game-advance.net/wiki/PolyMD

Very unlikely, but I was thinking of making
gold - colourless mana
lumber - race specific mana

Then doing item prices on this, but things like that I won't go into until the map is fully working with plenty of heroes.

Cool idea, and im betting u'll get a lot of help especially regarding ideas. I was wondering are you gonna use items as artifacts or? Oh, and i'd suggest that u base it off of older cards, most of the new stuffy is crappy at best
