Mobile Tower (Tank that converts into Tower)

01-05-2006, 04:03 PM#1
Mc !
This tank can transform into a tower to defend better a base. It is basically a "Mobile Tower"

It doesn't need custom textures. Use an ability like Metamorphosis to transform it in a tower.

Tim.
Interesting; although it could be improved upon, it is very well made. Approved.

Er... The tracks are going the wrong way.

Rather nice, though.

This Tank or better say defense tank looks like the 'mole tank' from NOD from C&C Tiberian sun and that's what I like.
(sorry for the 'mole tank', because I'didn't know how to translate the german word 'Maulwurf' better)

Dude, it's like this:
  • open the world editor
  • make a map
  • open the import manager
  • import the desired model
  • import the model's skin(s)
  • THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: edit the path of the textures as the modeler tells you. If he dosen't write anywhere the paths, then download the Wc3 File Convertor, wich converts mdx->mdl and vice versa. Now convert the model's mdx file to mdl, open the mdl with note pad or whatever text editor and scroll down until you see something like "bitmaps" or "textures", can't remember exactly. Aniway, where you see the name of the texture(s), there's a path behind them (or not). That's the path you must use in the import manager. If there's no path, then don't use any path at all, leave that blank.
  • now save the map
  • exit the world editor
  • open the world editor
  • open your previously saved map
  • open the unit editor
  • assign that model to a unit
  • place that unit on the map
  • you're done

That should work. If not, I don't know what's the problem.
