An Suggestion to have more Members

Well...
You guys(Admins) can make an System to the Forum, that only Registered members can see the Topics e etc...
Because some people just enter Wc3C, see some tutorials and leave.
It will make people register and start to post on Wc3C...

No, it will make people register just to read tutorials. So there will be an overflow of inactive useless users.

Yes, and since if we added that we couldn't give them a preview of how good the site is (for example by letting them look at tutorials), so if they only could see the front page, nobody would ever join.

tis kind of system creates a closed community. closed communities die. (especially modding communitys)

Well, because this, they will register.
To see how the site is.
And they probably will like.
The Admins can put too, an System that ppls need a number of posts to see the Tutorials and Resources.
And if someone make Flood/Spam to see the Tutos and Resources will have their posts reduced etc...

No, they won't. Really, if they can do nothing but only see the news, they will just forget about the site and go somewhere else.

And the last idea, I am really against that too.

I 'd rather have only 100 active members than a site with 40000 members but only 90 are really active. (in fact this happened with old wc3c, I had to mass delete users with 0 posts)

If I try anything like that, it would only help to increase the number of 0 members, people that never make posts and just uses the account to read tutorials.

The exception is that you need to be logged in to download attachments, this is not to force a major number of users but to prevent leeching.

Same if we force posts. Specially to read tutorials, I think that tutorials are for people that don't know something yet. If you force them to read the tutorials they would rather:
- Go to another site

or

- Create a lot of useless posts

Conclusion: This site is not really looking for massive statistics, instead we would want to have the best members
