Underwater

I thought the concept of making terrain look like it was underwater was interesting, so I had to try it.

That seaweed in the background is too repetitive and boring. And the fog is all wrong, it should have been way thicker. And the lack of marine life and some rays of light here and there makes it boring.

On the subject of seaweed...
*hint* variation *hint*

Unfortunantly, the model doesn't seem to have any visible varitions, so I would suggest methods such as random scaling, rotation, etc.

Or make your own models. That's the best way. Learning how to model is not that hard and it helps a lot. Just keep your first models for yourself...

It looks so plain. Maybe some corals would make it better.

I don't think corals would fit in right, but indeed it needs much more variation, and schools of fish.

Maybe u are right...
I never made underwater, but for me corals are must.

coral doens't fit with seaweed mazes, it's a completely different biome.

Edit: I think i know what this terrain needs without screwing up the theme, the seaweed should be more randomly scaled and rotated, it needs more rocks and some fishes.

I noticed that the water(fog) is too light, it looks like the place is in a tropical reef, or something related to that area. As people have already said, it'd look better if the water was denser.

Maybe a little, but not much I should think, and from what I know you don't have environments like this in tropical places.

Some moonlight rays would look good too.

You need some fish in that page, it looks so plain.

Just some samples of Underwater that could liven things up a bit, these screenshots were taken from the cinematic contest entry Waves Of Blood. And sorry for 'some' poor angles, stupid Sky + Fog = evil time screenshotting.

Also, for those who are saying "the water fog is too light", this isn't the "real world" that we're trying to replicate, people have different styles for underwater, some prefer "light" underwater, others prefer dark/hard to see underwater.

In my opinion it doesn't matter as long as you can make it look good and 'unique', afterall, this is just a fantasy game.

~minor edit~
Also, regarding custom models, 'meh', no one should be 'forced' to use custom models to make scenes look good, you're truely talented if you can make something look good with what you've got. But I will agree that variation in size etc. is a good idea.
