Right... a fresh new idea has been spooking trough my mind lately. I've been thinking off a way about combining Castle Defence, AoS, and even tower defence on a effetive way. And the result... is something wierd, and inspired on a wc3 tft map i played a while back ago. Sadly, I lost the name. This is, however, mixed with a lot of genres. Note: this is just a idea. Im not planning on making any map, im just sharing a flash of inspiration. Castlemania (working title) General Idea You are a king in a world that lies open to you. A big world, with open castles, farms, goldmines, and more importantly: rivalising kings who need a good whoopin'. The entire world lies open for you, ready to be clamed. But be wary: your rivals will be wanting theyre share of glory as well. In depth Your first unit is a king, and your first building is a "Headquarters" inside one of the X premade castle foundation spread around the map. At your headquarters, you can build workers and research upgrades. Across the map are diffrent types of neutral facilities that can be "claimed" by your King. Claiming will cost a lot of gold. You get gold for each "castle" you control per second, and you get a additional boost of gold for every "farm" or "goldmine" per second. You also get cash for defeating enemy units. Every player is on its own, but it is possible to ally yourself with one other player. These alliences can easily be broken after notifying your allie for 5 minutes. After you crush a enemy Headquarters, your king can establish a headquarters at the zone that will become neutral. Here's a list of buildable buildings and recruitable soldiers. buildings Headquarters Builded by: The King. Buildable where: On a zone Cost: Very high. Effects: Building a HQ claims a farm/castle/goldmine. Claiming one of these will give gold per second and a place to train workers. Goldmines give the most, then farms, and castles give the least. However, castles can be defended easily. Barracks Buildable by: Worker Buildable where: Friendly ground (Belongs to a claimed zone) Cost : Cheap Effects: The place to build offence and defencive units. (more about diffrent types of units later) Tower Buildable by : Worker Buildable where: Friendly ground Cost : MOderate Effects : Basic offence structure. Can be upgraded. Wall/Gate Buildable by : Worker. Buildable where: Anywhere. Costs : Very cheap. Effects: Basic wall. Can be upgraded. A wall can be converted into a gate by selecting it and turning it into a gate. Units and Towers This is where the Castle/Tower defence piece comes in. As stated before, there are two types of units. Offencive and Defencive. Defencive units can be controlled, but they cannot leave the zone where they where created . They are very strong and can be controlled at wish. Imagine these as tanks, or as archers. Offencive units cant be controlled, but can leave the zone. They are set to a enemy zone on the map, and automaticly attack the targeted zone. If the zone is neutral/friendly, they will wait there untill they are ordereder somwhere else. Offencive units can be ordered at the barracks where they where made. Weak and mindless, controlled by the computer. The King The king is the only controllable unit that can leave and enter zones at command. He also gains experience, and he can claim neutral zones. If he dies, you loose. You also loose if you dont control a base for X seconds. If your enemy doesn't send any units at you, you can always entertain yourself at the bandit camps, who respawn and drop items. Thats it for all. If there's any demand for it, I will develop it some more and go into details -Viggy. |

Nice stuff. Kind of a Warlords styled map. I like these kind of games, but its a shame most B'net players don't have the intelligence or patience to stick in. |

The idea was to set up a big world where you can roam in freely and poon other players by expanding faster and outwitting them. Obviously, if you hold more bases you can attack more targets, increasing your strategic power. Also, if you attack somone else its AoS. If somone attacks you, its TD/Castle defence, and you can even maze in it. |

Hullo. Yeah, I like the idea a lot. Been wanting a map like this for some time. My suggestions to this is to have a variety of kings, each supporting his kingdom differently. (Scouting/Stealth, Combat/Auras, Nobility/Gold.) They could all be skinned from a paladin, the explorer would be a rugged outdoorsman with an eyepatch, the warlord would don full plate armor and the noble would have a crown. |

I love the idea of diffrent types of kings and plan on adding it to the concept sometime. However, basing them all on the same model seems a bit... dull. Glad to have you back Dominant =') |

Yeh, I guess the same model could get dull. We need eyepatches and fullplates though. And most definately a crown. |

Lolz, nothing hosted here got finished, what a joke! Having a forum does not make a project get completed, it distracts members from working. |
