Just a quick question / board opionions on a project that I am starting. What kind of magic does everyone think the highborne were practicing? Was is elemental, spirit, arcane, ??? I am trying to come up with some good skills for hero in the highborne race around the time the founded Quel'Thalas. |

it depends of what you define as "arcane" |

if you read the world of warcraft history, it says they used a dark source of magic to maintain there hunger. And it mentions hellish fire, so i suppose elemental and arcane. |

The highborne practiced 100% unadulterated, straight-up arcane magic. |

and they paid for it! |

Yah but now theyre blood elves..and /or naga, and/or some other mutated creature. So they did pay but some others didnt. But now they all look alot cooler basically and so..arcane magic does have some benefits...besides becoming magically addicted to it in the process of using it |

highborne arent naga. highborne = high elves = blood elves Naga are Azsharas followers, whom after the well of power incidicent (mal furioun, tyranda, cenarious vs Evil Azshara) took the to sea to recover their strenght and arise 10000 years later in Warcraft 3: The Frozen throne, and arise they did! |

If they needed 10.000 years to recover their strength, then they were a bunch of pussies. |

Not realy, considering how powerful NAGA actualy are. |

They're only powerful because they're amphibic creatures, anyway. They have the ability to attack anyone, anywhere, anytime and never have to worry about being attacekd themselves. Because nothing can attack something that lives on the bottom of the ocean. And they don't even use this to their advantage! They go around engadging in open combat, and crap. What a bunch of losers. |

Naga suck ingame what you talking about. |

OK the only reason Naga suck in game is because Blizzard never made them into a race. Basically all subraces suck, if the Naga where fully developed, then they would most likely be a balanced, fun to play with, race |

But from a non-RTS millitary point-of-view, they're complete idiots. I mean, if I have stealth I don't piss it away by dancing around in an open field, then start building important structures there, and stuff. Not taking magic into consideration (mages could probably do something about it), the nagas could easily defeat all the other races by striking wherever they want, pretty much whenever they want, and by being immune to attack themselves as a result of, y'know, living under water, and stuff. Why do they even construct buildings on land? They're exposed there! And they even had 10.000 years to prepare. This was the best they could come up with? A bunch of idiots following a emo night elf around? Bah, give me half an hour to prepare and I'll come up with something better than that. Heck, give me a minute, I'll do it on the fly. |
