I can't remeber for sure, but I think in the icons I've made (for maps that were never finished), I found that a black layer with normal blending mode set to 50% alpha, PLUS a black layer set to change only 'saturation' set to 50% alpha, PLUS a normal layer that is transparent in the middle and fades to full black on the edges (like a passive skill) made my icons disabled icons look exactly like the in-game ones. |

I just looked at my files and for disabled buttons, I have (in order of highest layer to lowest): 1) 'Passive Fade' (Edges are black, middle is transparent, fades between) 2) 'Desaturate' (Black layer, blend mode 'Saturation', 50% opacity) 3) 'Darken' (Black layer, blend mode 'Luminosity', 60% opacity) 4) Button Image (whatever you want) 5) 'Background' (black, appears through transparent parts of the image) For passive buttons, turn #2 and #3 off. For normal buttons, turn #1, #2, and #3 off and add an image with the beveled edges (middle transparent) on top. |
