(10) Mortar Ball v1.4 [Pre-1.24]

This game is a quick small game to play when you dont have ages of time at your hands. It is really easy to understand and that doesnt make it less fun.

The goal of the game is to bombard enemy mortarteams with different weapons. The weapons/powerups spawn randomly in the middle of the map.

Try it 5v5 on BNet sometime :)

Edit: Fixed Whiteout bug, finally :)

I guess you have a fog call like this in his map:

Trigger:
Environment - Set fog to style Linear, z-start 1000000000.00, z-end 1000000000.00, density 0.00 and color (100.00%, 100.00%, 100.00%)

Which causes problems on some people's comps (this includes mine). By changing it to:

Trigger:
Environment - Set fog to style Linear, z-start 0.00, z-end 1000000000.00, density 0.00 and color (100.00%, 100.00%, 100.00%)

It should work perfectly, and I don't think it would change anything.

Right now it looks completely white on my comp, and I remember having that problem with a map by Tim., we fixed that by doing so, and he told me that there is no difference.

Please change, so that I can play it .

This is indeed a very fun map, there are WAY to many complicated maps out there. What b.net needs are small, fast paced maps like this one! :D

I tried it on 1v1 in my LAN

I think it needs some fixing
it is probably really fun in 5vs 5 though

but I think that it could be zoomed in a little more
also I couldn't figure out when I lost
there wasn't a list of the number of lives each player had
it was also too short
probably an option at the end to join a new round could help

My opinion is that if that stuff is fixed (and also blade's problem) I would support its aproval (you would have the aproval of 1 staff member out of 3 required)

Well... I played with Blade,Tim and Alfred, we were testing this map, and I didn't have this fog problem, thats strange why I didn't had while Blade had it...

Too short is just the type of game it is. It's not ment to be a long game. Just a quick game if you dont have a lot of time left.
And about the new round.. Well, I think it is better to just rehost. During the game players will leave, and when the game has "ended" more ppl will leave. If you restart the game then the teams will be imballanced and the 2nd game will not be fun. I've thought about this and decided not to include it.

But ye, I agree on the ability to see other ppl's lifes. Multiboard or maybe floating text. Will have some tests soon.

Ok then it was just a detail , may be something to choose the number of lives instead? well that will not be a requirement anymore

It works very nice now, no fog problems. Thanks for fixing, the map seemed fun, but I need to test it on Battle.net to get a better impression of it :).

It got a bit boring in the end, agreed, but generally it was a fun map (and yes, I am one of the suckers that died in our game :P).

I am glad that you fixed the fog problem.

I really suggest you too make it restart, maybe people will leave, but they won't do so always, and if the does, the rest can just leave too.
And a place to see lives of all players, like Vexorian suggested, would be good too.

Nice map, has my approval.

lol, a mortar ball game has NEVER lasted THAT long with me :) I wonder how many powerups whitehorn missed :)

I think it has enough aprovals, the changes my post suggest can wait and you can edit the map and edit the attachments any time, let me move this
