This was my submission to the CGtalk "Spectacular" challenge. I adopted a "philosophical" approach of the theme instead of something with spectacular image impact. This has a lot of meaning into it wich I'm not going to reveal here. But looks like they wanted visual impact, so my entry was shit. And the quality is not very high, because it was made...well...in one day...I had 2 or 3 months to make it, but at a time I quited, I was over-demoralised. But in the last day I decided to make something. I just started to scribble with nothing in my mind and I built this up from the shapes I was making and then I saw a whole story...yeah, I'm crazy...original resolution: 300dpi (for printing reasons). |

I like it a lot, it's really interesting. Something very 'old world' about it, the faces and the dark skies in the background. I think the bark has a really nice texture, not photorealistic (sure that wasn't the intention) but actually gives the wood a more animalistic quality, sort of like feathers. The skewered head is just...messed up. But it definately looks like it should be there. This is really good mate. |
